My table is finally in the correct room

After my shower yesterday I put some music on loud to stop me from procrastinating again and finally got my kitchen table back into the dinette. It's been in my living room for several years I think. I'm pretty sure it didn't just get moved there for our remodel.
I've been trying to get it moved for several months now. First I had to finish clearing it off. Then I moved it to an area near the kitchen but still in the living room. I then had to move a small folding table to the place where the kitchen table was because that was in the dinette and there's not room for two tables in there. That wasn't heavy, just awkward. It was loaded with plants and boxes so those had to be moved first.
I thought about moving my table myself but waited until I had help from an employee. It was heavier than I remembered.
Now we can eat in the dinette again.

@MarshaMusselman - I know that our table is very heavy, it's hard to move it with the help of my husband.

It was heavier than I expected it to be so I'm glad I didn't try to do it alone.

The table looks neatly placed. I like a clear dinning table but table is packed with glass, cutlery stand, pickles and sauces.

If it's remains cleared off that will be a big surprise but I'm hoping that will be the case. I might need to put a stand in the room to hold extra papers so the stay off they table and counter.

@aninditasen many of us have that same problem. Right now my extra papers are on my countertop and bookcase. I decided to use one shelf of the bookcase for mail to keep other areas free and it has helped some.

Glad you got it moved, That is one thing I have learned living on my own to just do whatever has to be done otherwise it will never get done,

It was pretty heavy to move by oneself. But I do a lot of other things on my own. I may be doing less as I get older but hopefully I won't give up taking care of things for a long time yet.

Your table looks brand new. Bet it feels good to have it all moved into the dinette.

@MarshaMusselman keeping a table cloth on your table certainly kept it in good condition. It feels good to be able to cross something off your "to do" list doesn't it.
I have a table runner on my dining room table and since we don't use it that much I don't really need to cover it with a tablecloth. I do love tablecloths though and have many that I use for company.

The table hasn't been used as a table much and I usually have a table cloth on it. I have some placemats somewhere that I need to find but in the meantime I put the tablecloth back in it even though it doesn't match the room.
I'm glad I finally got that it's my 'to do list'.

@Marilynda1225 I hope to get a table runner and maybe some matching placemats.

pretty table. I don't sit at a table anymore. My uncle's table in the sun room is beautiful, but too high.

I don't remember where we purchased it as we've had it for maybe ten years. We bought it because we thought my husband niece from PA was coming for a visit but they changed their mind at the last minute.
Now I have to see how many chairs that I got from my mom are still in the basement. I think there are one or two but my husband thinks we only have the two left that are upstairs.

@thislittlepennyearns we've not used ours properly for several years partially because of it's location and partially because it was also loaded with stuff.

@MarshaMusselman Well it seems like a happy accident or something like that, that you ended up getting it.
We have a huge one in our dining room. That we don't ever use. It's covered in random stuff.

Yay, I rarely eat at the table, It seems like it's biggest purpose is to collect junk!

@snowy22315 so you mean the finished kitchen? I've shared pics of that here more than once. I'll see if I can find the discussion it was on.
Jan 20th. If you look for backsplash under tagged discussions, actually I'll tag it here that will make it easier. It shows the finished countertops.

I don't like surfaces full of things wherever they may be but sometimes that happens whether we like it or not.

That was certainly true in this case. It would have been easier if I had a better place to store things than on and under the table that was in there. I still have several boxes to go through and either find a place to store stuff or give them away. At the rate I'm going that might take me another year.

So am I. We barely managed as it was because we had to turn it in its side to get it around the doorway before righting it again.

It looks good in there at present. We are super there tonight which was a bit weird because I usually eat in a chair in the living room and my husband eats at his computer in another room.

Yes, it doesn't really match the colors in the room but at least it will protect the table until I get something better that will match.
