How old is your oldest piece of clothing?

I’m wondering what is the oldest piece of clothing that you have that you still wear. You’re welcome to respond here, of course, but perhaps it’s a nice idea for a discussion of your own if you’re battling for something to write about.
The upper photo is from 1990 and I’m second from the right. The skirt I’m wearing had a matching top but they seemed a bit garish worn together so mostly I wore one or the other with other clothes.
However, I still have the top, which is now 32 years old. It’s now very much a top I wear when I’m doing messy or dirty work.
And, while I’m here, does anyone know how Ocean Tiara is doing? She hasn’t posted for a while and I can’t message her for some reason. I don’t think she would have blocked me deliberately. Thanks.

Alas, I have many old clothes, but not many I can fit into. I was worried about Ocean Tiara too.
I also wanted to know about Valerie J. Routhieaux, I took a long break and when I came back she isn't writing anymore. I hope she's OK.

My wife's oldest clothes she bought many many years ago are still worn by her even though there are holes in some parts of the clothes. She doesn't wear them outside the house, though.

I have a heavy leather coat that still fits me that I bought when Pretty was 5 years old. So it is 29 years old.

@JudyEv Honestly, no. I prefer wearing a lighter cool season jacket. I'm always afraid someone will damage my leather coat. People can be weird about leather clothing in the US.
The way I see it, we ate the meat, what does it matter what we do with the cow's hide after that?

@DaddyEvil I hadn't thought about people being upset about leather. I can understand them being against fur more but not so much leather. I guess even shoes aren't always leather nowadays.

I have a lovely sweater that my daughter wore, her 8th grade year of school(14years old). At this time she's 49 and the sweater is in perfect shape. She wanted to give it away for salvage years ago, I begged it off her. I love it!
Tiara was looking for another apartment, for health reasons. Maybe her service has been disconnected, hopefully she found a new, clean home to live in.

@kobesbuddy I'm sorry to hear she has this disease. I hadn't actually heard before what it was although that is what it sounded like. Gilly has COPD too and she hasn't been here since saying she had contracted covid.

I have sarees of my wedding which are 36 years old. I can't wear them now. Of course I have silk sarees from Odisha which are more than 20 years old. I still wear those sarees sometimes.

I have jeans that might be older than that. I keep them as an inspiration for losing weight. It hasn't happened yet, but tomorrow is another day!

@JudyEv I imagine Ocean Tiara is about the same. There probably won't be any change for her until she gets to move.I imagine she will get a new place eventually., but maybe not until the fall.

I have no news from Ocean Tiara, I am going to send her an email.
I am thinking to my clothing, I often wear a yellow sweater that I bought in 1984, so that one is 38 years old.
Wait... there is something older that I wear, a caramel colour winter skirt that my Mom bought for me the year I got my Diploma, that means 1969... that one is old but still looks good!

I asked about ocean tiara to yesterday but my post was removed. I think it may have been a tad too short.
As far as clothing I have clothes I got from my mom. I've no idea when she purchased them. Some I wear and others I'm saving to see if I'll ever wear them as they're nice.
I used to have a skirt I got back in the early eighties that I really liked. When I gained weight from my first pregnancy I kept it but eventually gave it away because I wasn't losing the extra weight. I'd wear if is I still had it.

@MarshaMusselman I know there are some colours that I really feel good in. Dull, drab colours do nothing for me but bright, clear colours always lighten my mood.

Great pix. I have some clothes put away that are 20 years old. I know I'll never be able to wear them again and should give them to Goodwill. I'm sorry; but I don't know about Ocean Tiara.

That's all I have, is old clothes... I think the oldest would be a couple outfits my mother made in the 60s. Or it could be some socks.
As for Oshy, I know she was looking for a new place to live, so she may not be all set up computerwise.

Its great that I run across this post this morning.
I have an old top on today, and I was trying to remember when I bought this top.
It has weathered the time very well, clothing today doesn't seem to stand the same test of time.
I want to estimate that this, probably my old article of clothing, has to be about 15 years old.
I bought it to wear as a regular top for work, and have worn it at least once a week the entire time that I've had it except for the past 21/2 years while I worked from home when I often wore it twice a week.
I love your picture, I remember the bold bright colours of the 80's.
I have my wedding gown still, and its from the 80's, but I don't wear it anymore.
I have been concerned about Tiara for some time also, she hasn't been well but I hope that she is getting stronger and will soon join us again.

My wedding dress was made in 1971. I can still get into it and can do the zip up untiI I get to my shoulder area. I've broadened out in that area obviously.
I know Tiara seemed to be having lots of problems. I do hope she is okay.

Well the oldest I can think of is a pair of socks I know I wore when I was in 6th form (age 17-18) - that was back in 1984-5. I still wear those regularly. I have a summer top of a similar age, but I don't wear that so much nowadays, I tend to wear T-shirts that cover more skin because I can't be bothered with sunscreen!
By the way, what on Earth did you do to your hair in that photo? [em]rofl[em]
I can't comment on @OceanTiara because she seems to have blocked me many months ago. At least I assume that's what happened because I found I was no longer able to respond to any of her posts. So after that I didn't maintain contact any more.

I can't imagine socks lasting that long or are you only in your 20s now?
I'll have you know my hair was quite 'the thing' back then. It suits me long but I had it permed.
I think Tiara has blocked all messages. Either that or she has blocked me too. But I was responding to her posts so I don't think I'm blocked. Hopefully she'll turn up soon.

I thought my 10 year old house clothes has been worn too long and then I read the responses and 25-35 years is what I see .
I hope they can share the brand.

I have a cashmere cardigan sweater I love to wear in the winter. In it's day, it was very pricey, it belonged to my aunt. She and I didn't have the same tastes in clothing, but I love cardigan style sweaters and she knew that, so she gave it to me. I love to wear it and remember her when I do. I think it's from the 60's! But it's still in perfect shape. I just love it.

Yes, some do. She had two little black dresses she wore for years and years. Plain, simple style and they were Chanel. Uncle bought them for her and she wore them a lot, back in the 60's-70's. She dressed them out differenty with scarves, different kinds of jewelry, accessories, and such. People don't dress up now like they did then. I remember it took her a long time to get ready to go somewhere!
