A Fresh Return to Writing

After a break of a year or more from all writing I'm slowly picking up my notebook and pencil again - yes, I still write most of my brainstorms and first drafts with pencil on paper. I'm an old-fashioned girl, and I love the feel of words flowing from my hand onto the page.
My writing went stale. I stopped writing altogether. No daily journal writing, nothing creative or spontaneous. Lately I've felt ideas and words calling me again. I've started a bit of non-fiction writing, a few articles for an organisation I belong to. My journal writing is almost happening daily. And I've even penned a few poems, much to my surpise. Writing feels fresh again and I'm loving it.
Now it's time to reconnect with the people I've known on this site for so long. I'm looking forward to catching up with you all again.

It’s so good to see you Val. I left Mylot for a year after my son passed away then when my better half passed away I came back to communicate with my friends on Mylot. I’m happy to see you’re well and still writing. We all have a dry spell occasionally.

@MarshaMusselman sadly my break was 15 months. But, I needed the space. Now I'm enjoying catching up with everybody, well, those who are still here.

Cool, and welcome back. I am pretty imaginative and would like to write a novel but nothing really sparks my interest enough to do it. Maybe I should enter a short story contest, although truthfully I am more comfortable with non fiction. I can write though, despite my less than stellar products on mylot.
