Do you remember potted meat? The meat pressed into the little cans that once opened could be easily spread on bread.
I took my lunch to school a lot and to change it around from over and over peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and baloney and cheese sandwiches, my Mom would fix me a potted meat sandwich.
It was cheap and I thought tasty at the time.
But, not too long ago I read where it has tripe in it and it is rather salty. I am leery of organ meat.
Do you like potted meat?

Vienna sausages are just nauseating. I can't even look at the can at the store.

Here in India we don't take canned meat. The Indians love fresh meat from the butcher.

Like you I ate it as a child. My mama would also make my sister and I a sandwich with it. She put mayonnaise on it too. I thought it tasted good. I haven’t had it in years.

I used to eat potted meat sandwiches, too. I don't have a problem with organ meat but those little cans don't seem worth the price when I can eat a ham sandwich for a little more money.

I have never had any. What I enjoyed was this deviled ham spread but the last time I tried it again I wondered how in the world I could have eaten anything so salty,

I tried this one time. I hated it, and have no desire to ever have it. Likewise with those oh, so terrible Vienna sausage things in a can. They are so, so gross. In that slimy liquid...just a big no from me. I will eat some canned meats and fish. Tuna, salmon, clams, little shrimps, even corned beef hash once in a blue moon. I know the hash isn't good for me, but maybe once a year is a good treat. I don't even like chopped, pressed lunchmeats. Just too processed and they usually just make me feel sick, so it's a bit of the real thing or get out the peanut butter!

I have not tried potted meat before. Probably my mom never introduced it to us. If I tried it, I might find it tasty. :-)
