Another Sunday Down the Poop Chute

It has been another wonderful Sunday. Engaging conversations and loads of entertainment to boot (some discussions provide for that even if that is not their intention). Time well wasted, as I like to sometimes say.
Made more enemies, I am sure of it. But hey, that's par for the course in Porwest territory. Bought $20 worth of probably losing tickets for the $790 million MegaMillions jackpot for Tuesday's drawing.
Now it is just the anticipation of returning to Hell, which is my pet name for the job I have. But it's just for four days. I am leaving for Florida on Friday—but won't be there until Saturday as Fultondale, Alabama is the halfway point.
YES, I am taking my wife. I guess that's only proper.
I probably should have accomplished more today. But can I just have ONE DAY out of the week that doesn't need to have something ACCOMPLISHED? I mean, what's the point to life if it's all just work and chores?
Meanwhile the wife was frustrated that I STILL have not replaced the toilet seat in our master bath that we bought at Menard's two weeks ago. "The seat is not broken," I told her.
I bought it because she insisted she did not like the LOOK of the old one. When I told her I was thinking about replacing her simply because she looks different than she did 17 years ago, that of course did not go over well.
How has your day been?

@porwest It'll be hit-or-miss. We've had an average rainy season. For a while, I was worried we'd have a trout.

@kaylachan I like trout. But I am sure you meant to say drought.

@RasmaSandra I am hoping the weather is similar to the weather we had last year in Cape San Blas.

My day today has been slow in terms of being able to complete surveys but happy sharing good news stories on this site today. Nice warm day outside with light rain outside.

@Deepizzaguy That is definitely one of the interesting aspects of this site and social media in general, that you get to see how people work and live in other places. Often times the one common thing you pick up is that no matter where people in the world live, they are all quite similar to all of us—at the end of the day we are people.

My whole day was pretty much shot as well, as we had torrential downpours and thunderstorms all day. I literally laid on the couch doing nothing.

@porwest Sorry to hear your basement is flooded, and right before the start of your vacation. Hopefully there is not too much damage.
And it is for that exact reason that houses in Florida don’t have basements!

@moffittjc Yeah. It makes sense. Otherwise they would have to call a house with a basement one which includes "an occasional indoor swimming pool." lol

Are you going to Florida for work or a getaway?
Your wife would be better off replacing it herself instead of waiting for you to do it. But then would she still complain? Some wives do that. They tell their husband to do something and when they don't do it right away the wives go ahead and do it themselves and then complain that their husband didn't do what they asked him to do.

@porwest My mom and I replaced her toilet seat. Of course, I was a dummy and instead of removing the top and unscrewing the screws with the screwdriver, I tried to do it from underneath the toilet, which proved to be difficult.

@porwest That's a huge house. How many people will be staying there?

The Florida trip is a getaway. Got a five bedroom, five bath house on the beach. Going to be sweet, relaxing, and refreshing.
If my wife tried to replace the toilet seat it would either be installed wrong or I would definitely wind up doing it myself anyway. lol

My husband is eligible for two 37-year-olds now; but he has lost interest in these older women. My day has been quiet and quite boring.

@porwest We both decided that dating is not in our futures; and if something happens to the other, we might end up alone for eternity.

Hahahah you and your wife sound a lot like my husband and I . My day has actually been very productive. Went to church, mediated some family conflicts, made a delicious moussaka and just enjoyed the cool weather we currently have here in Zambia. All in all, a very fine day.
