Maybe I can keep this plant alive

We had four friends come to the house last night and we bought in pizzas. It’s my birthday tomorrow but we’ll be away so it was sort of early celebration. One friend brought me a potted plant from her garden. It’s an aeonium ‘Du Rozzen’. You can see it in the photo.
It likes full sun, is easy to grow, tolerant to dry conditions and very low maintenance. The dimensions are 40cm (15 inches) high and 60cm (23 inches) spread. It sounds like my type of plant. I’ve already repotted it into a bowl-shaped container and it’s on the wall with some similar pots.
However, now I’ve worked out how high 40cm is, it might get too big for the container I have it in. I guess it will be okay for a while.

Looks like a colourful foliage plant. May be you can propagate once there are more branches?

Happy birthday to you ! The plants of aeonium are able to thrive in dry conditions.

It sounds really interesting and I like the way it looks. But it appears to be available only in Australia and the UK, for now.
I hope you enjoy it and it lives well for you.

@JudyEv That's what I thought, too. There are several varieties of it that I liked as well as the one you have. (There is one that looks like a Hen and Chicks that is bright yellow. I'd love to have that in a pot on the porch!)

It's very lovely. Your friends were so sweet to bring you such lovely presents. Is that a standard thing to do in Australia when visiting?

@JudyEv I think this is a great idea, since it doesn't have to be very expensive. I believe people at one time brought a gift to parties, but this is rich people I think in the US.

They do get quite tall. But they are very pretty.

It might be better off in the ground if it's going to reach its full height.

It's nice looking. I always kill plants. I'm not a good gardener whereas my husband has a very good green thumb and can grow anything.

I'm not a good gardener but my Mum and sister were/are both very good and could/can grow almost anything.

People sell off such things here on local FB sites or whatever. We bought some geraniums etc from a backyard where the lady was propagating all sorts of things.
