Are You Going Paperless?

These days, I've been receiving messages from my banks asking me to get e-statements instead of paper statements. For now, I get e-bill for my phone, electricity, gas and insurance. However, I'm still wondering if I should switch my bank statement and credit card statement from paper to electronic format. I understand the pros of e-statement. However, I find it easier to check the items on the bank statement and credit card statement with a printed copy. Do you receive your bills/statements in printed or electronic format?

No, I'm not interested in going paperless. And yes, all of the different companies keep trying to get me to do that. I want to hold the bills and statements in my hand. (Yes, I know the planet wants to grow trees instead of me getting paper bills, but... *shrug*)

@Beestring If you actually check things off, I wouldn't. I like to file all mine together, which I could do on my laptop but I'm always afraid I'll lose stuff like that just when I need it.

Understand. That's why I am wondering if I should switch to e-statements for banks and credit cards.

@PhredWreck We've never gotten a paper bill from Suddenlink. (I only know vaguely how much we pay a month for internet. That's one of the bills Pretty pays.)

I still get a few paper bills but for the most part everything is electronic. No matter which format I still have to write things down because I tend to forget. As for checking the statements, I can do it either way.

@Beestring I turned my mom and grandmother on to paperless. I think it's easier because you can call up your statement when you need to instead of waiting. Though there are some that still like the paper version

I see. When the banks start to charge for printed statements, I may change.

@Beestring Correct, most financial institutions do not sent paper statements to their customers anymore. We can download the statements and print them if we like.

I see. Is it that banks and credit cards no longer send paper statements to customers any more in your country?

So do I. I tried paperless, very inconvenient. I totally went back to paper. I find paper reassuring, easier to check things and proof of everything!

It seems like helping environment, and all, but other ways to help like bring own bags when shopping, turn off lights not in use, shut water faucet soaping up, recycling. So statements in hand is easier for me, thus, I'm sticking to paper for receipts too.

Yes. Even in my end, majority of the utilities are on e-bill already to balance the environment.

I pay bills electronically, but I still want to receive paper bills. I agree, I like to see the charges on paper.

I do like to go paperless in some areas. It's nice a tree doesn't have to die to send me a bill.

Yes, I switched my internet bill to e-bill cause they charge for paper bill & the e-bills are instantly delivered. So I guess its a good thing.

Oh yes I do, there is hardly anything that is on paper here except my scribble notes at times.
