Today Wednesday 3, August 2022, "National Grab Some Nuts Day" is being celebrated in the United States. The Day is to encourage everyone to have some nuts on a daily basis. Nuts are a healthy snack and so versatile. You can make nut loaf, nut cake , peanut brittle, pistachio peanut brittle, blender peanut butter - and many other nutty recipes. Do you like nuts? Which ones do you prefer? Here is a list of nuts and their health benefits. 1. - Hazelnuts: These offer more folate than other nuts and are a good source of vitamin E. 2 Pistachios: These are high in protein and are a great source of potassium. 3. Walnuts: These lower cholesterol and are high in fiber and antioxidants like polyphenols which may help prevent heart disease. 4. Cashews: These are lower in fat than most other nuts and contain the most iron. They also have magnesium which helps lower blood pressure. 5. Almonds: These are a good source of vitamin E and Fiber. They help lower cholesterol and several other risk factors for heart disease. They may even reduce the risk for colon cancer. 6.Brazil Nuts: These are a good source of Calcium and Magnesium. They are also a great source of Selenium which provides cancer combating benefits. Enjoy your nuts. Pixabay image.

My favorite ones are the Planters..yes I know they are salted but oh well. I like the Pistachio Mix, this one that I buy at Walmart. They are kind of expensive but it is an occasional treat.

@luisga814 The protein in nuts is high in arginine, an animo acid which relaxes blood vessels. When your blood vessels are relaxed they can distribute blood more effectively to all parts of the body, including the brain.

Cashews are my favorite but I like most nuts. In the family lobby whatever it’s called there is as some mixed nuts with chocolate mixed on. I grabbed it for my husband when I was making my coffee.

I just recently loved eating nuts. I can see some are available in grocery stores selling mixed nuts. I like the unsalted ones since I love the natural taste of roasted nuts. I have tasted all kinds of nuts except #6 I have not seen one yet. Between 1-5 my favorite are 1 and 5 and 3 also.

@Kandae11 Me too I like the mixed nuts too since you can have a variety of tastes and not just one kind. I sometimes mixed that with either raisins or dried cranberries to have a fruity taste.

My husband refuses to quit telling this story on me when we first were getting to know each other. College days. I stupidly and innocently approached him the cafeteria. He had a bowl of nuts sitting there. I loudly said: "You sure have nice nuts!" Whoa.

I like to add nuts to the old diet. I mix the different ones as they provide a variety of vitamins and minerals. I also eat something with vitamin C as I've told that helps to release the goodies in the nuts
