Why God gives extreme pain to some people?

One of my friends did love marriage.
It was against the wish of his parents so they did not accept the bride and asked the son to live separately though in the same building.
They were living a good life and suddenly one day the girl fainted. The diagnosis revealed that she is suffering from Anemia.
She is fighting this disease for 10 years. Almost infinite blood transfusion has been done but things have not changed.
Recently it was found that she had developed cancer in the ovary, and surgery was done but God knows what's going to happen in the future.
She goes through lots of pain and as told by my friend now she doesn't want more surgeries and medicines, she wants to die peacefully. It seems she has no energy left to fight the disease.
My friend is very upset with his life and with the worsening condition of his wife.
I also feel bad for him and pray to God not to give him more pain and suffering. Sometimes I wonder why God gives so much pain to some people.

Sounds more like the devil doing it rather than God, just my own personal thoughts.

@jobelbojel that's true when we are happy we forget God and when in sorrow we go to God and ask for wishes. This fellow is upset with his life and still fights and hope that he will come out it.

I can say yes or no.
Sometimes God can allow these things to happen. Just because God is a jealous God. Why? He wants us to only go to Him and pray. When people experience sadness, problems they only go to God or even ask God why them? Instead of How and what can they do. But when people are happy, they get what they like, they abandon God. (this is only in general, I don't point out to only one person or few)
Some others would be the devil.

I guess it is a challenge to people to pass it. like you know God gives problems to know if you will still praise him or go away to him.

That is so sad that your friend is going through such a panful experience. It does make me question why some people have so much to deal with while others seems to be free from any suffering.

I can understand one's confusion when it seems God is not listening to our prayers. In trying to understand this question myself I discovered some points of view which provide comfort if not a complete answer. Here's what I found...
It is not always God’s will to heal a person physically. If it were always God’s will for people to be healed, then everyone would be healed every time he or she became ill. Although it may seem cruel to not heal everyone here on earth perhaps God has a greater plan. Even in the Bible God did not heal everyone who was sick. Perhaps God is sending us a message through this suffering? Though it does seem unfair when our requests for help go unanswered. All we can do is accept our fates for it is in God's hands and know that our suffering will end when we enter his Kingdom of Heaven.

Yes, it doesn't seem to make sense, does it? It makes me sad that some people suffer all of their lives.

I'm afraid I'm not really able to respond to it. I believe that a scientific explanation would be that she acquired it genetically and that her genes are what cause it. Just that it got worse after they were married was sad. He may find solace in the fact that they wed the people they loved and were not coerced into doing so by their parents. I don't believe that their refusal to cooperate with their parents' wishes played a role in it.

Sometimes God allow things to happen to us. He wants us to remember Him not in the form of punishments. People had the notion that when they are experiencing problems or sickness, they often point to God as if they are being punished.

I often wonder why God lets little children get diseases. That is really sad to.

Sorry to hear about your friend's wife.
I also don't believe that God chooses to make people suffer. I believe some of the diseases in the world are due to the environment and what we've eaten through the years and possibly other causes we wouldn't suspect. God prefers that everyone remain healthy.

I also wonder why but I guess we will never know. All we have to do is try to manage the situation we are in and remain positive and hopeful.

It is very random, and no I don't believe God has a reason for this type of suffering. Why would God choose some to suffer and others to have charmed lives? It makes no sense to me. I don't believe the explanations for these things that some Christians try to put out there.
