My grandson has Covid

What a 13th birthday "gift!" Landon, our daughter's youngest son is at Urgent Care and has the Omicron variant which I think is a little less severe than the other Covid viruses. He and his mom and dad just got home from his birthday trip to Orlando, Florida. Tammy's had Covid, but I don't think his dad Jay has had it. Landon will be at least one day late starting 8th grade....hopefully he'll be well by then. So far, five of our immediate family have had Covid (my husband's had it twice!), but six of us have avoided it. Hope you all are staying well. Say a prayer for Landon if you will....thanks so much.

I hope your grandson will feel better soon. Several of our family have had covid. Two granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. One nephew had covid 19 . He was seriously ill and is disabled from it. Several friends had it and two didn’t survive. I’ve hoped covid would have disappeared by now but at least the variants aren’t as serious.

Prayers for a speedy recovery! Our last bout with Covid in our family came after a trip to Orlando as well. It’s a huge worldwide tourist mecca, so it only stands to reason that Covid would be very prevalent there.

I don't know where all they went in Orlando except for Medieval Times. Hope you haven't had Covid again. My husband's had it twice now, but I've missed it so far.

@1creekgirl I’ve been holding steady so far. We were all at Disney, and I was the only one who didn’t get it.

I'm really sad to hear it. The good news is that Covid is getting more and more treatable, and the majority of people will be able to recover from it, especially if they have already received a vaccination. They weren't as harmful as earlier iterations of the virus, which were usually so lethal that only your body could fight them off without the aid of any medications.

@1creekgirl Oh good for you that you did not get it yet. My father had not gotten it too until when he transferred to our place and got the virus when he was back in the province, he was able to evade it always. But here in the city he was not able to avoid it anymore. But he has recovered already from it since he was vaccinated already and boosted as well.

Yes, he had his vaccines, so maybe he won't have too bad a case. Hope your nieces and nephew will stay well. Thanks for the prayers.

@1creekgirl My brother-in-law got covid, but managed not to give it to them. His only clue was that he lost his sense of smell.

@1creekgirl That's good to hear he is not so bad today. Yes, each time seemed to happen after a crowded area like the museum.

@1creekgirl Poor little thing. I am so sorry he has Covid. I'm wishing him all the best in getting through this. I hope he feels better ASAP! Having Covid is awful! I've experienced it back in March I believe. All the best!

I hope Landon gets better from this soon! All in our family have been able to avoid it thus far, but we know so many people around us who have gotten it fairly recently - hitting too close to home. My son's friend returned from a family trip to FL - came home with covid (just a couple weeks ago).

@1creekgirl - The baby was the one who first got Covid, she was too young to wear a mask. Of course my niece got Covid from her. They are both well now, my niece still feeling very tired, but she is well. Thank you.

I will definitely say a prayer for Landon that he recovers quickly and will be able to start 8th grade as soon as possible! We haven't had anyone in our immediate family test positive for Covid (lucky!), but my niece has had it, which makes sense, because she's an emergency room nurse.
