My apple pie turned well but too soft

I tried the apple pie today to have it in the evening. It tasted good but turned out to be too soft. The upper crust came out well but the lower dough that carried the caramelized apples got baked but turned soft.
I kneaded my own pie dough and didn't buy them from any store.
I loved eating the pie in the evening. It is emitting a sweet smell which couldn't stop my maid asking me what I had made.

I used cardamom and vanilla essence that emitted very sweet smell along with the apples. The fragrance reached the neighbours. My maid did expect some and I give her some today.

It's a confectionery made of apples, sugar, flour and butter. I like apples and take them everyday. They are good for digestion.

@aninditasen Good. I have never liked the local apples. Those kashmiri red small apples taste great. But they are rare to find even in the supermarket.

I love apple pie and even if it's soft I would enjoy it. The aroma of a baking pie certainly does make the house smell wonderful

I suppose the apples and sugar caramel on it may have made it soft.
