Water, the Ultimate Thirst-Quencher!

I don't know what your go-to drink is, but mine is definitely water. I just love the stuff! We have a refrigerator filter, and I am constantly getting a refill of the water from the fridge. I do drink colas, maybe once a week, but it's water that I constantly come back to.
I used to drink milk at least once a day, but I've kind of stopped doing that. I just don't crave it anymore. Back in my younger days, I used to like to imbibe in some alcohol here and there, with ice cold beer being my favorite! Nowadays, beer just tastes kind of gross to me. I guess my tastebuds have changed as I've gotten older.
So what is your favorite beverage that is your go-to for quenching your thirst?

Well, I prefer a soda but the doctor doesn't want me to drink much soda anymore so I'm mostly drinking flavored water now.
I used to drink a lot of juice but the doctor poo-pooed that, too. So water it is.

@gtdoss She didn't want me to drink any juice at all. Too much fructose in it, which is a natural sugar.

Yeah, I know what you mean, though. My doctor would probably flip her lid if I drank a lot of fruit juice! Even though I drink mostly water, she still gets onto me about a healthy diet, less sugar intake, etc. But I know she's just looking after me.

I put away quite a lot of it over the weekend at the tournament…and I didn’t even play! They call me “Jugs” because I bring water jugs to the tournaments to make sure we stay hydrated.

@gtdoss — I’m a professional miniature golf player (although I was out this year due to injury). It was our state tournament’s final championship tournament.

@gtdoss I was thrilled with it when I first bought it, but it seems to have fallen by the wayside as of late.

I'm not going to lie, my favorite go-to drink is Dr. Pepper. I just can't get enough of that soda! But I also know it's not good for you, so I limit myself to only one per day if I drink it at all. Probably second to Dr. Pepper is coffee, which makes me realize just having typed this sentence is that I probably have a severe caffeine addiction! LOL
But really, I drink water all day long. The first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is drink water. And then I make myself drink it all day long at work. I am fortunate that I have a water cooler in my office that is literally next to my desk. I don't even have to get up to go get a drink!

@gtdoss I will admit, on weekends I drink multiple cups of coffee! If that’s the worst vice I have, I’m not doing so bad.

Yes, I do like a good soft drink, but, like you, I limit my intake of sodas. I drink a cup of coffee once a day purely for the caffeine it provides me, but I used to drink 3 or 4 cups of coffee per day, so I'm doing better! Good for you having the water cooler right next to your desk!

I love soft drinks, fruit juice but can't do without water which I drink quite a number of times throughout the day.

Like you, water. I like sparkling apple cider, no soda. Simply Light Orange Juice, Slim Fast vanilla and strawberry shakes and I put Lactose free milk in my coffee. Lactose free milk, has low sugar & lots of calcium, so I like it for cereal too. I like Fairlife milk too.

Right now since having covid, water is tasting funny. Flat and bitter. I am liking carbonation as it helps with the cough. Normally I would have said water, though.

I used to drink iced tea and watered-down cranberry juice, but I could never tolerate Gatorade. My sons sure like it, though!

That's how I feel, too. I actually get sick feeling if I haven't had enough water in a day!

@gtdoss Nothing beats water of course. Sometimes we indulge in soda and chilled juice.
