Shopping and lunch at the pub.

Today we went shopping and had lunch at the pub.
I got up at 7:00am to encourage Mum to get ready quicker so we could be out by 10:00am, because I know it takes my Mum a long time to get ready. In the end we were out of the door at 10:10am, which wasn't too bad.
We walked round the top path round Stowe Pool again. Mum saw a friend from Church and stopped chatting for a few moments. And we saw two dogs chasing the geese.
We managed to get to the pub by about 11:30am. We both had a large vegan breakfast and a lemon and lime. It was very nice.
My Mum went to the toilet in the pub and she was taking a long time. Then a guy came up and said, "Was there someone else with you?" and I said, "Yes," and he said, "Well she was stuck on the toilet. I think she's managed to get up now though." So I went up to check and she was fine, so I went to the toilet myself. Afterwards my Mum told me that when she couldn't get off the loo, she managed to use my walking stick that I had leant her to undo the latch on the door so she could shout someone to help her off the toilet!
She came back to the seat and finished off her lemon and lime which I made sure the fella didn't take when he came to collect the plates. Mum said she wished we could go out for lunch or something without there being some kind of disaster or mishap!
Then we went to the Oxfam shop to give my donations. They were in a big bag that got stuck in the trolley and it needed a good yank to get them out!
Next we went to the Halifax and Mum transferred some money from her passbook account to her cheque book account and also took out some cash.
After that we went to Holland and Barrett where Mum got some liquorice, some sugar free sweets, some sugar free chocolate and some sugar free chocolate chip cookies, and I got a large bottle of Kombucha.
Then we went and sat on the bench outside Holland and Barrett. There was a pink stuffed toy thing on top of the post box there that someone had left. People were talking about it and pointing and laughing! We ate a few of Mum's sugar free sweets.
Next we went to Rileys and got some pears, a whole cucumber (the half ones are too small), some lettuce, some sweets for my step-dad and some sugar free Marie type biscuits for my Mum.
After that we went to Wilkos. My Mum was treating me to a pair of magnifying glasses as a late birthday present. We also got some bird seed for the birds in our garden. I wanted to get some LR1130 batteries but we couldn't get any. They just had LR44. Mum wanted to get a defuzzer, to defuzz our clothes when they've got bubbles on them but we couldn't find one of those either.
Then Mum was going to enquire about getting a walker for when she's out and about but when we got to the mobility shop she couldn't see any looking through the window. We could see mobility scooters and recliner chairs and stuff like that but not walkers. That, plus the fact that there was quite a few people in and it said it closed at 4:00pm and it was already a quarter past, meant my Mum didn't bother going in.
So instead we headed straight to Iceland where I got 3 lots of sea bass (3 for £10, or £5 each), and Mum got some mini sausage rolls, some lamb burgers and some other stuff.
After that we headed for home. First we went past where the old auction house used to be, because I wanted to show Mum that it really had been demolished to make way for retirement homes. All the walls of the retirement homes have been built now, in bricks that look very red, and they just need the roofs putting on. Shouldn't be too long till they're finished.
So we walked round Stowe Pool on the top path again, and sat on a bench for a bit. Actually we sat on 2 benches, but because the first was in the sun we moved to one a bit further down that was in the shade.
We eventually got home at approx 6:30pm, and I unpacked the trolley while sneaking peeks at Hollyoaks. After I'd packed everything away I poured a glass of Kombucha and drank it while watching the end of Hollyoaks.
After that I watched The One Show. It had Noel Fitzpatrick, the Supervet, on. He was talking about a stage show he's going to be doing where he will talk about some of the patients he's had in his surgery and the love bond that people have with their animal companions. He said if more people could learn to love animals then maybe we could also learn to love each other. He's a lovely guy that Noel Fitzpatrick.
After I'd watched The One Show I washed up while Emmerdale was on.
How was your day?

Thank you. Yes, it was a long day. That's mainly because my Mum is so slow these days. If I'd been doing exactly the same thing on my own I would have done it much quicker.

@sharonelton I agree that after you can laugh about the accident. I am glad she could ask for help.
Do you think a child lost his stuffed toy and someone placed it there?

@LadyDuck Yes, we can laugh afterwards! The guy who helped her up said remember to bring a book with you next time!
I don't know. Maybe. But sometimes people leave things like that on purpose. I don't know why. One day we saw a stuffed owl someone had left on the end of the wall by Minster Pool!

Yes, it was a bit of an adventure! No, being stuck on the loo isn't really amusing, but you can laugh at It afterwards!
Yes, the pink stuffed toy does look cute. I went and had a close up look at it, and it seemed to have like a flamingos beak on top, but then It had another face underneath, so i don't know what it was meant to be!

@sharonelton Never mind my day - I thoroughly enjoyed yours. You had me captivated throughout your account. I was in Card Factory today (your photo reminded me) to get a birthday card for my wife who’ll be 60 shortly but their selection was limited to rude cards, very rude some of them. Not at all suitable for any occasion. I do admire your mother’s inventiveness in getting rescued from the loo.

@sharonelton A respectable lady ought always take a walking stick to the lavatory.

Thank you very much. I'm glad you enjoyed my day! It's very satisfying when people enjoy my posts as much as you did!
It's a shame you couldn't get a nice card for your wife from the Card Factory. Why do people always assume we want rude cards? I make cards. You could have had one of mine!
Yes, my Mum was very clever to do that, and it was a good job I lent her my walking stick to go to the toilet!

Sounds like a productive day. I've recently managed to cash in several rewards from doing surveys.

@Deepizzaguy Really good! I've recently added £40 worth of Amazon vouchers to my Amazon account from doing surveys. What are you going to do with yours?

What a nice time with your mom. Glad she's ok. When you're older, your body just doesn't act like it used to. My day, laundry, and cleaning, then dinner. Chicken tenders, french fries and cooked vegetables. Now tv. Tomorrow, I'd like to get my bunch of flowers and see what else catches my eyes at nearby Marukai Wholesale Mart.

Yes. Family is great to have near, always. Truth may hurt at times, but truth will always help. Now, I've lost my Mother, my heart won't say goodbye, for it's too hard. Family cares, family always you can count on and family will always help.

Thank you very much. Yes, my Mum's OK. It's true when you are older you can't do things in the way that you used to. But I remember before I was diagnosed with the underactive thyroid, my Mum was the one going fast and I was the one trying to catch up with her, and she was saying, "There's something wrong with you!"
You had a busy day too.
