The power of compounding will make you rich. But also finding a job one loves is key to financial freedom.
Warren Buffet started earning and investing at 11 years old. I was earning back then selling sweetened peanuts, hotcake and ice candy. I wish I have saved my earnings. But I spent them all LOL.
What is left now is for me to have a very long, healthy lives but that is not on my hands. Sure I can do some eating nutritious food, exercising and all that but ultimately we dont know when our time will come or if something happens.
Its 8am and yes I am thinking about money. I just love the feeling of being safe and secure.

I didn't and still don't understand about investing money. I started working a job at 13 years old but, like you, I spent the money instead of saving it.

Investing in stock market for example hoping for returns but there are risks as well.

@yoalldudes Yeah, I've heard that's the case. I'm not willing to try it.

@DaddyEvil The retirement rule is simple: if stock is up, spend money from there; if stock market is down spend your cash saving.

I get up at 4am in the morning and do yoga. I am drawing a pension from which I couldn't save anything this month.

Most people who have a lot of money definitely got into money early on, and also early on understood the value of it and the value of saving and investing it. I don't think having a good job or even enjoying your job is key to financial freedom. Sound money management skills is what gets that done.
You don't even have to make a lot of money from a job. You just have to know what to do with every penny you make.

@yoalldudes I think of my pennies as soldiers who I send out to do battle for me and bring back more pennies from the other side. lol

i like to spend my money on activities i enjoy doing. i was 24 when i started earning real good money because i was employed by a generous company. I splurged on luxury things but never forgetting to spare for my old parents. Time flew.fast and me hopping from one job to another, I was in between jobs for several times and using those money I've earned. Am a senior now.but still working and still struggling to save for my old age, as long as I am physically able to work I will grab all chance at making a penny.

I feel my eyes failing on me at a young age of 43 (this Sept) as well as energy. That is a good attitude you have towards work.

@yoalldudes I was struggling financially at that age. I recovered my finances when I was heading through my senior years. keep praying for the best of health. God provides.

@florelway Once my daughter graduates, maybe financially we will be more secure. I am happy that you were able to get a hold of your finances eventually. I am also glad that we are able to share with each other our stories in our journey.

Feeling secure that is the important thing. And I can even start with health without it we are nothing.

Working hard, gaining back our financial freedom by being debt-free-- because we paid every $ for it-- is fantastic and wonderful to achieve.

Thank you for the encouragement. So much fear around economy these days but I choose to believe that even after a downturn it will go back up and be robust as ever.
