A Day For The Beach

Today August 30 is designated National Beach Day , a day which celebrates all the sandy beaches and " focuses on the need to keep them clean".
So many things you can do at the beach apart from swimming - like playing volleyball, frisbee, picnicking or simply relaxing with a book. Summer is almost over, so if you haven't gone there yet , today is the day to make your move.
What do you usually wear at the beach? - shorts, t- shirts, Wraps , bikinis or full bathing suits?
Is there a beach near you, and have you gone yet for the summer?
Do you prefer going with family, friends or by yourself?
Happy National Beach Day.

@everwonderwhy Thanks I'll try. The hurricane season doesn't end until November 30.

We haven't been swimming since the pandemic began. The closest "beach" is over half an hour away...

Quite a lot of people stayed away from beaches during the pandemic. In some countries the beaches are crowded again. - but covid had not left.
Even before the pandemic l avoided crowds. The beaches l go to are semi secluded with little over a dozen persons around.

@Kandae11 We have a choice between the lake shore or a river bank. The river is too cold for me to be able to swim in and the lake shore is overgrown with weeds and brush. There are venomous snakes along both and with the lake shore overgrown, people aren't trying to get close to the lake to swim.

I used to wear just shorts and tshirt usually.
Way back when I was young, just whatever I had on.
Oh to be near a beach.
I will never get over having to leave it

Happy Beach Day to you, too. We took a ride to the beach on Sunday and had dinner there.
I always used to wear a bikini, but these days wear strapless suits. I prefer going to any of the many beaches we have here with my hubs and/or the family. In Florida, I go with hubs, family, and friends. Taking long walks and swimming is for me!

Yes, fond memories of the beach. Happy Beach Day. Those days are long gone for me. We dug clams, camped and shore fish plus picnics at the beach.

This is a day I would love to celebrate but I don't live near the beach. I used to love to swim and enjoy vacationing at the beach during the summer. I do miss it

I haven't been to the beach in a long time. I usually wear a two piece bathing suit. But right now I can't fit in my bathing suit. I usually go with family. I don't live near a beach.

I don't go to the beach anymore because I take medicine that makes me feel sick in the heat. When I did go to the beach in the olden days, I always wore a bikini top and shorts, because I liked to be active on the beach with volleyball and just goofing around with my friends/family.
