Twenty-five years ago today people all over the world woke up to the sad news that the beloved Princess of Wales had passed.
Popularly known as "the People's Princess" , Diana was involved in a deadly car crash in a Paris tunnel the night before.
She was taken to hospital and there was hope, however faint that she would survive, but she did not.
Today , fans everywhere are remembering and celebrating her life.
A picture that is etched in my mind is the sad faces of her two young sons, Prince William and Prince Harry at her funeral.
You can read about today's plans, remembrance and activities in the link below.
LONDON (AP) — Fans of the late Princess Diana placed tributes outside the gates of her Kensington Palace home on Wednesday, marking the 25th anniversary of her death in a Paris car accident .

Oh this was the saddest day as she truly was The People's Princess. She had a great heart did Diana. Fierce even though soft like a fawn.
RIP

She was beautiful and stunning both inside as well as out.
I remember my hubby and I had just returned from a big pig roast Labour Day party with some friends. We were both cold, so we put warm pants on and sat outside together for a while. While I changed into warmer clothes I turned the tv on and saw the banner at the bottom of the program that was on, saying Diana was just reported deceased.
We talked about it for about an hour until we went to bed.
So sad, such a waste of a purposeful life.

There is a light there near the tunnel which will be permanently lit. We saw it while on our package tour there.

It’s hard to believe that it was 25 years ago.
