My Ganesh Chaturthi breakfast. The Bengali dal puri and chutney.

Each Ganesh Chaturthi I used to fast until I finished my puja but this time the doctor has asked me not to fast and the time of the puja was at 1pm, so I couldn't do with some fruit juice and take some food after saying my prayers and offering laddus to Lord Ganesh. I therefore thought why not make some breakfast that would keep me filled even after I finished my puja. I therefore made the Bengali dal puri. It's boiled and smashed gram dal along with some spices as stuffing in white flour dough and then deep frying them. I made the chutney with tomato, raw mango and dates.
It was quite filling and kept me going after I finished my puja after 1pm. Lunch was vegetable polao with soya nugget curry along with some raita. Dinner was some plain puri and the soya nugget curry and some cold milk.
Photo is mine.

@Dreamerby You will feel home sick when you don't get to eat what you like in the hostel.

Surely. Dalpuri is tasty. My mom often makes it for breakfast. But now I am in hostel(6 hours journey from my home). This post makes me homesick now

The dal has to boiled till its very soft. Then garnished with some clarified butter and aromatic spices and ginger paste. We have to stir this dal till its dry. Cool this stuffing and shape the dough into small cup shapes put the stuffings and close and roll into the shape of puris and deep fry.

It's simple. You just have to put what you want as stuffing in the dough by making a whole in the balls with your thumb and fingers.
