Second day of work from home...

Good morning from this side of the planet . September is here and I hope that everyone has a good month .
It's my second day of work from home. Rain has created havoc here and the road infront of our school is flooded. Even the basement is flooded where we have quite few facilities including the resource room. Since yesterday, we have shifted to the online mode of classes. It's 11 AM here and I have just finished the work at school for the day. Will do a bit of mylotting before I head to the kitchen to cook chicken for my family. For my vegetarian self, I have already cooked the vegetarian dishes. I have ordered fresh chicken and it would be delivered to my doorstep in another 30 minutes. Meanwhile, I can mylot
Feeling much better now. Seems my body badly needed some lazy days to get enough rest after recovering from a bad viral flu.
It's bright sunny outside. But it would be too early to have any hopes for no rain today. We had nice bright sun yesterday till 3 in the afternoon. We were hopeful that this would help the city with the flooding situation in many areas. But then we got heavy rain in the night and drizzling till morning. It's alert for rain in the city for next five days. Keeping fingers crossed and hoping against the hope that the prediction proves to be wrong.
Our neighbouring country Pakistan is struggling with one of the worst floods in their history and more than thousands casualties are already reported from there. Prayers for all who are caught in the natural calamity.
Keeping everyone in thoughts. Hope all stay safe and healthy in their mylot corner .
Have a wonderful September.
YAY!!, I missed the payout this time by few cents and that means I have a good headstart to the month.
Hope to get paid in double digits next month.

I'm glad you got enough rest so you're feeling better. (I'm sorry the school basement and the road in front of the school are flooded. I hope something can be done fairly quickly to fix that situation.)
It started raining here this afternoon heavily and we are under a flood warning. The ditch at the end of our yard is full but the water isn't coming into our yard yet.
I'm running a fever and shivering but I just got the second Covid booster and the second shingles shot this morning, so that's expected.
I hope you manage to be on myLot enough in September that you make a good payout.

They tried pumping out some water but where to throw that. It's water everywhere around and even more coming from the sky . Only sunshine for few continuous days will help. Keeping fingers crossed
The warning for heavy rain in the evening is there and we can not trust the bright sunshine that we have today.
I got worried about your sickness but glad that the reason is a good one.
Take care and feel better soon .
I am starting my new month close to dollar five. Hopefully I can add a lot more

@arunima25 Oh, yeah, what to do with the water is always a problem. We're still getting rain here, too. I hope it ends soon for you.
Yeah, I don't like being sick but it's in a good cause. Thank you.
Ohhh... yeah, that's a good start for this month, then. Good luck!

Thanks and I hope that you too have a great day . We are having rain daily since July but in the last four days, it has been a continuous heavy rain. We need sunshine for few days to help the situation improve.

Yes, sometimes in 2016, if I remember it right. It was a one time kind of thing and it lasted for two days. I remember I was stuck in school and it took me almost half a day to return home. All roads were flooded and blocked.
In the last two years, it has become common. The rain is unusual compared to earlier times.

@allknowing Yes. Bangalore is no more the same city as it was till 2000. Unplanned and unstructured urbanization has turned it into a concrete jungle. It's the highest capital city from sea level and should never flood. But blame the corruption and unplanned urbanization and constructions, it's ecosystem is a big concern now

Yesterday I was reading about Pakistan. Sadly, lots of people lost their life due to flood and many are forced to leave their houses and property. We are fortunate that we had sufficient rain and the river "Yamuna" is not overflooded.
Hope you're enjoying working from home - school.

Natural disasters like flood are getting so common. Australia is going through it in some parts. And many stated in the US are flooded too. We have extreme cases in our country...some parts being flooded while others have drought. Nature seems to be not kind.
I enjoy physical classes more as they are more productive with the special children. But yes, I did get some extra sleep in the morning as no rush to go out. Some extra rest has helped me recover better.

We all hope that. We are having rain daily since July but in the last four days, it has been raining heavily and continuously. Today it's bright sun and we hope that unlike yesterday it doesn't shatter our hope.. Warning for heavy rain in the night is there.

It was sunny and all of a sudden it's raining cats and dogs outside. Seems like the prediction for heavy rain for the next five days stays valid and it's not going to help the situation. If it rains at this speed for another hour, it will worsen the situation.

@LadyDuck Rain has reduced in the last few days but not completely stopped..that makes things get better at slow pace. Now they predicted heavy rain again for next two days. That doesn't sound good.

@arunima25 Wow, that is terrible. I really had no idea I usuallly pay attention to the news but I hadn't heard this being reported. I must have missed it. It sounds very inconvienent, but at least you are yours are safe. Sadly, this is likely the wave of the future.

@snowy22315 We got no rain on Friday. That built our hopes. But we got heavy rain again today for few hours. It's late Saturday evening here and it's still drizzling. Seems like it might rain in the night.

I saw the pictures and a few videos of the horrible state of affairs in Bengaluru.
A news link :
I had seen the city in 2000.
I think from Garden city, it has transformed to an unplanned Lakes and River city!!
On a more serious note, the haphazard development and the high increase in population with no corresponding Infrastructure development has led to this mess.
I was shocked to see Tractors and boats evacuating people even in the so called Well off areas and IT Parks, Business areas.
I have reached payout this time - a little above 5 USD.
I hope the floods recede fast in Bengaluru.
India News: Life for many in Bengaluru remained disrupted on Tuesday after two days of torrential rains set off long traffic snarls, widespread power cuts and hea

I think now some restrictions should be placed on the new constructions.
Drainage systems need to be improved and so do the preparation for Disaster Management.
And all of these are needed in al the big and even smaller Indian cities.
Thanks for your greetings.
I am aiming for a slightly better September in terms of earnings.

Only a few areas is flooded and that's making rounds on news channels and social media. Normalcy is there in rest. But yes, traffic is slow everywhere or rather stagnant and clogged.
I agree to your point. But it's not the only reason. Bangalore is also facing the heat of climate change. Infrastructure has to be blamed. But then no city in the world can bear with such amount of rain. It's raining daily since May for few hours each day. We only had few breaks of a day or two. And in the last week, the city faced non stop heavy rain for 72 hours. That was really alarming and so many trees were uprooted in the storm and fell on the roads. Rain has reduced but not completely stopped. I agree that a better infrastructure would have reduced the intensity of disaster but then such a heavy rain would cause flooding in even the most developed countries.
High time that people and politicians stop the blame game and take their own responsibility. The place has paid a huge price for the corrupt and greedy mindsets of people in power.
It was good to be back to physical school from this week.
Congratulations!! On your payout. I am little above dollar five , but I don't think I will add much this month. Full swing renovation work going at home means so much of extra chore every evening affer the workers leave.

@JudyEv Yes, definitely it is. And water logging for too long can be a good breeding ground for mosquitoes and other germs..so the risk of disease outbreak is also there..
In the last few days, we have bright sun throughout the day..that has kept the situation under control despite the thunderstorm and rain in the night.

Yes, Judy it is. Our apartment is made on an elevated land and so no water logging happens. I am in a penthouse that is the topmost fourth floor.
I called to find out that the situation is better. Last two days we had bright sun throughout day, though we got some heavy rain later in the nights. But the bright sun helped. They are using the weekend to clean up the mess. Hopefully we get back to work on Monday.

Pakistan is in bad shape. They really need prayers and support from across the world.
It's getting better here. Some strong sunshine in the daytime during last three days has helped. Though it rains later in the evening or night for few hours, the strong sun and heat during long day has helped the situation.

@arunima25 The main city in my homeland Guyana, South America is four ft below sea level. So for centuries it has been fortified by a very strong , broad seawall. I can just imagine what the result would be if that wall was ever breached.

Climate change is inevitable but the way mankind has misused and abused Nature for its selfish reason has accelerated the rate. Australia and some states of the US are also flooded.
Our city is the highest capital city from sea level. And it's shocking that it's getting flooded with the heavy rain in the last couple of years..We used to have rain throughout the year because of the unique geographic location of the city..But it never rained continuously and so heavily to cause rain..Last two years have been horrible.

Yes, the BER months have started. And once they do, the festive mood sets in. But still I would say that Christmas songs in September would be too early. Well, those songs are lovely and I wouldn't mind them anytime
