Happy Friday Everyone! another beautiful day here in my little corner of the myLot world. Definitely not complaining because I know these days are now numbered since Sept has arrived.
It's good news, bad news here today.
My oldest daughter took my youngest daughter to the doctor this morning for her knee pain. The good news is she didn't tear anything and doesn't need x-rays, surgery or any other treatment we were worried about.
The bad news is she has some inflamed ligaments involving her kneecap so all she can do is continue to hobble around, ice it and take some OTC pain medication. It's going to have to heal on it's own so she'll be dealing with the pain for awhile.
I feel really bad for her because she can't seem to get comfortable. She hasn't been sleeping very well and this makes her even more cranky than just dealing with the pain.
I just hope it heals faster as the days go by and she'll be back to her old energetic self.
Other than that, everything else is good
We're heading into a holiday weekend (Labor Day) which is basically the unofficial end of summer even though calendar wise it isn't until Sept 22.
Hope you're enjoying this Friday and have something fun planned for the weekend.

I'm glad she doesn't need surgery or anything else on her knee. I hope she heals quickly.
I'm running a fever today because I had my second Covid booster shot yesterday and my second shingles shot yesterday. (I wanted to get the sickness from both shots over at once instead of having two three day sick periods.)

How are you feeling now? The fever will go away really quick since that is due to the shots.

My fingers are crossed that my daughter heals quickly too. She does so much for me that it's been a bit rough having her "off her feet"
I don't blame you for getting both shots on the same day. Much better to deal with the side effects than on two separate trips. Hope you're feeling good quickly

Glad to hear she doesn't ned surgery. Ice packs and bags of frozen peas wrapped in a towel have been my friend after my recent brain surgery. Ice can really help. I hope she can find relief soon and get some rest. I hope you can enjoy your weekend.

I am glad to know that your daughter does not require any surgery for the knee.
I remember my wife had to undergo knee surgery because her ligaments were broken as she had an accident. It was painful and she was in bed for almost 1.5 months.

I hope your wife is doing better now. I was afraid the same thng would be the solution for my daughter but thankfully it's just over-exertion and her knee should get better with rest and icing it.

I remember having to keep my leg elevated for a time to help the knee heal but that's impossible to do 24/7. I pray she'll be able to heal quickly and maybe you can encourage her to keep it as elevated as possible for as long as possible.

She's doing her best but it's hard especially since she still has to work and sit at her desk all day long She does take breaks to elevate it and ice it and I'm really hoping and praying that it heals quickly.

@rebelann she is entitled to time off but since she works from home it doesn't make any sense for her to take off.

@Marilynda1225 I was in pain for a while and when finally I had physical therapy I could walk again without pain.

@LadyDuck physical therapy is a good option and Im glad it helped you when you were in so much pain. I've had back issues from when I was young and it's horrible when back pain flares up.

She'll have to check back with her doctor so if it doesn't seem to be getting better he might suggest physical therapy. Right now she's supposed to stay off it as much as possible, ice it and take pain medications.

You're right. Pain is pain and most of us deal with it one way or another. Sorry to hear that you suffer from chronic back pain. I've pulled my back out and it's horrible.

@Marilynda1225 If they ever find a way to make complete replacement parts for old, worn out bodies...or better yet, just plop my brain into a new one altogether. lol

You are so right, this is a good news bad news post.
Did they suggest a brace or anything for her?
Its a beautiful, somewhat hot day here today.
My hubby has the day off so he's on a 4-day weekend, and of course I am still on vacation until next Tuesday, so its been a relaxing day here today.

@Marilynda1225 Oh that is good, I'm glad that she has the brace.
Our daughter-in-law has to wear a brace on her left wrist as she has hurt it similar to your daughter, hers is from holding those butterball-sized babies.
We are not doing alot this weekend, he really needs physical rest.
This morning we went out for breakfast, he loves breakfast out, then we went out to Apple Land Station. Its an orchard outside of town. They take you out to the orchard on a little train and drop you off so that you can pick your own. We each picked a bag in just minutes. I picked a bag of Zestar, which are a baking apple, and he picked a bag of early macs. He ate one already this afternoon and plans on taking them for his lunches in the weeks to come. That is good, as it will save a little on the grocery bill, and I will take every little bit where I can find it.
This afternoon I let him rest and I went shopping. Its back to the office shopping. Eventually I will need to return and I cannot think of how many outfits that I will need to buy, so I started today. I bought a really nice pair of black plaid pants, they have a grey background and just a hint of a jeweled purple in them. I found a jeweled coloured purple t-shirt at my favorite t-shirt place for just a few dollars, and will buy a dressy long sleeved black sweater that I saw that ties at the chest. It will be dressy enough even though there is no collar on the sweater or the t-shirt.

She got a brace and it seems to help. The doctor said it's inflamed from over-exertion and that it will heal with rest and icing it.
Hope you and your hubby enjoy this long weekend and that you've enjoyed not having to work this week

Sometimes hobbling around is a pain in itself.but with rest she'll be ok. I"m just happy it wasn't anything more serious.

@Marilynda1225 Hubs is tired and in quite a bit of pain. He's also dizzy which is probably his getting used to the new dosages of his meds. Thanks for asking.

She was away for a few days with her friends and when she stood up it just felt sore and she couldn't move it. They had been doing a lot of walking and I guess her knee just had enough

I am sorry for your youngest daughter, wish she gets well soon. Well, as for me, the good news is we don't need to go to office because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the better news is it is more and more difficult to get foods and vegetables because shops and supermarkets are closed.

the Covid pandemic certainly has interrupted our lives for way too long. Sorry to hear that you're having a difficult time getting food and vegetables. We've had shortages on different items but our stores haven't closed

Nothing fun planned, but the Bad Seed is coming on Monday, on Lifetime and I have been really looking forward to watching that. I am reading a book about a psychopathic child which is quite chilling.

That’s the good/bad thing about our bodies: God gave us bodies that will heal things themselves; however, they heal on their own time. The song said “You Can’t Hurry Love,” well you can’t hurry healing, either!
I don’t know if she’s tried it, but when I hyperextended my knee I slept with a pillow between my knees and it seemed to help some.

Love your analogy about Can't Hurry Healing (so true) Doctor said she over-extended it and it will take time to heal. Rest and ice. I'm going to suggest she uses a pillow between her knees. Thanks for the idea. I'm sure it will help

I'm also hoping it's something that heals quicker rather than slower. I'm just glad it wasn't something more serious
