Mountains Or Sea View?

A friend of mine is looking into buying an apartment. She asked me to accompany her to look at several units recommended by the agent. We've looked at a few. Some have a nice view of the mountains, some with a view of the sea. My friend loves mountains for their green beauty and gorgeous structure. Moreover, the humidity living near the sea is higher. I prefer sea view. I find viewing the sea relaxing and like to see the rolling waves and the ever-changing nature of the sea. My friend has not made up her mind yet.
Given the choice, would you rather live with a view of the mountains or a view of the sea?

@Beestring I see the Alps from my windows and those are beautiful mountains.

Actually, I love mountain view too. Just comparatively, I prefer sea view. The unit we've look at is actually quite far away from the sea. It's just that the building is tall enough to have a sea view.

Oh by far the sea.
I have mountain views here, but I do miss the ocean.

Actually, both views are nice. I just like sea view a bit more.

@snowy22315 Yes, I know.
How about the mountains at the front door and the sea at the back one?????

Honestly, I wouldn't have a problem with either view out my window. I'm used to seeing rolling hills out my windows. I grew up on a farm in Missouri and rolling hills is what you see.

@DaddyEvil Thanks. Actually, the two units we've shortlisted are nice. My friend is thinking about it.

@Beestring wow, that's a good locaton.
It is a soothing feeling when you are up the building, watching the calm seas and the setting sun.

@magallon Yes, it is. But the mountain view of the other unit is also quite nice. And it's a bit cheaper. My friend is thinking about it.

The unit we've looked is not near the seashore. It is quite far away from the sea, it's just that the building is tall enough to have a sea view.

I can understand your friend's dilemma. I love sea views and mountain views and any kind of natural view! If it were possible, I'd have a place with a sea view to the front and greenery (forest, fields, woodland) at the back!
If I must choose, though, I'd go for a sea view. My husband and I are hoping to move to the coast. He saw a place for rent and we would have snapped it up if we could have afforded it. We said we could manage the higher rent because we wouldn't spend anything else - we'd just sit at the window watching the sea all the time

@Beestring there are similar here (not necessarily mountains, we don't have many of them, but hills and rolling countryside) but they are usually far more expensive than other places.

@pumpkinjam Yeah, a house/apartment with a nice view is expensive.

The are places here with a sea view to the front and mountains at the back. But they are really expensive. My friend cannot afford at the moment.

If both is not possible, I would rather choice mountain view.

@Beestring yes that is true. While I like both views, it would be lovely to have a mountain view.

I always wanted to live where I would have a view of the sea but here I am living nowhere near any water. I have beautiful views of country life surrounded by farms and cornfields. The mountains aren't far away either

@cacay1 I like sea view but not living near seashore. The unit my friend and I saw the other day was not near the sea. It's just tall enough to have a sea view.

Definitely mountains! I love mountains. As you said, near the sea is humid and also can be smelly, as well as noisy if there are a lot of ships.

@Beestring I go to a volcano, Sakurajima, to work at the museum during my holidays. Last time I spent four nights next to the bay in an apartment (very noisy and humid) and three out in a village on the side of the mountain next to the main road (very quiet and green). Normally I unfortunately live on the flat land.

Mountain view is gorgeous. The unit we've looked at is not close to the sea. It's just tall enough to have a sea view. I wouldn't want to live by the sea.
