Do You Notice People Resigned To Stay Home?

I wonder if it's my age, so if you can include that in your reply (or an estimate), it might make more sense. I'm 40. I'm not as out-going as I used to, and the pandemic plays a part. I'm not just going to go out for the hell of it. It's basically, "Is going to this concert worth possibly catching COVID" and there are times I do want to go to events, but everyone around me seems to be resigned to sit at home, sitting on their phone, TV, but not really doing anything - no hobby, interest, playing an instrument, a sport (my friends/family quit this years ago), or things I used to do. Things that require another person, or a group. I like working from home. I like ordering groceries from home, but I also miss going out in nature for a few days in a rented cabin by the lake, or even little things like going fishing at a state park, or simply getting together for a get-together. Someone was supposed to come over to hang out. He told me to text him when I woke up, I did, and hours later - nothing. I would bet I'm going to hear, "I'm hungover, maaaaaaan"... Which is why I prefer people making plans on the day of the event -- too many flaky indecisive ones out there, even for the most simplest of "events".

Before married and covid i still hangout with friends and travel, still go to the movie theater, after having kid (i rarely hangout with friends but i still met them but not very often). After covid, i didnt do that kind of stuffs anymore, but today i went to the movie theater after 3 years not doing it, and it was so fun, eventho i was alone by myself, still fun, best "me time" ever after covid. Maybe i will try to gather with my friends again (i'm not sure about this, its really hard making this plan today). So, youre not alone then...

I still go out to eat most days. I love to travel still. Truthfully, though, I wonder how much of it is covid and how much of it is “don’t want to be caught in a mass shooting,” especially in the U.S.

My daughter and I are high risk so we prefer to stay home as much as we can. I will turn 59 in a couple of weeks and she's 34. You aren't alone.
