No butterflies

I hardly see butterflies in our garden these days. When Ixora was in full bloom at different spots in the garden we saw them but looks like they are not interested in the few other flowers that we see in our garden. My concern is I am hoping I will get seed pods on the butterfly pea flowers but without pollination there will be no pods. Butterflies do that Keeping my fingers crossed.

I have seen some butterflies this morning, the bees are a lot less active, I almost do not see them anymore.

The bees and the butterflies go for nectar and if they do not find it they will not visit

@LadyDuck I had bought a packet of four o clock seeds. They did not germinate These flowers have a mild scent as well. They are such a sight when in bloom. Do you have them in many colours?

@allknowing I have the four 'o clock flowers still in bloom and right now they stay open longer, they still have nectar to collect. I have seen some bees inside the pumpkin flowers this morning. I decided not to pick them up.

I see a lot of that in my home province. It has many different colors and we usually call that plant "santan" in our place. They are easy to grow and they would produce flowers all year round.

It seems they are extinct from the planet. I also see them rarely on the flowers these days.

I can suggest looking at other insect instead: maybe ants, beatles, spiders, hornets, mantises, dragonflies and more. I have some small gray brown butterflies in my house and they hide in the kitchen, I try to catch them and release them outside. They can get into the food, the dishes, and into the closets. Good luck with the garden, I hope you will see some butterflies visit your flowers. What kind of flowers attracted the butterflies you want to see ?

@stringer321 I have quite a few but not many attract butterflies and the butterflies have normally the black and white mix

Is there anything that you can plant that will attract the butterflies.

There are plus and minus points. Butterflies means caterpillars and caterpillars chop tender shoots of every plant around

Whenever I see a butterfly, I always smile. I don't know why. I love butterflies, big and small, dark or light colored. My favorites are the whites and yellows. I choose butterfly designs when I buy notebooks, mugs, and anything that has butterflies. They symbolized spirits sent by God.

We have them all over here thankfully. It’s hard to tell as it’s blurry but it looks like a swallowtail in the photo.

Too bad you are not seeing butterflies. There are many weeds in the fields here, along with milkweed, that are a host plant for them.

Blooming is fine but not for producing seeds.
