I love handmade things! I do not knit but I think this is so cute! My nana could take yarn and without a pattern make something beautiful in a few hours! We would get warm mittens, slippers, scarfs and even little knit purses. She would knit things for the church fairs and they would love her items. It was a win win! She felt good about donating and the church was happy for anything handmade. I love church fairs! They always have handmade items and bake sales that are the absolute best. Members of the churches always bake their family favorite recipes and they are amazing! Sometimes the have cookbooks for sale which contain family favorites thru the years. They are the best cookbooks in my opinion. Old time cooks with tried and true recipes I enjoy trying.

This is really cute. I am not very good at knitting. My mom would have surely been able to do this.
I have old cookbooks and the recipes in those books are a lot better than all the recipes I find online. Those recipes were tested recipes.

That scarf is adorable!! I can crochet but only do basic things. I also love homemade things especially if someone I love makes it for me. My grandmother was a great cook and even now I can remember how much I enjoyed being in the kitchen with her.

What a wonderful memory of your grandmother. I bet she had some great recipes. Do you have any of her recipes?
