We're now at our third house-sit

We arrived at our new house-sit this morning and have settled in. There are two dogs, six chooks (chickens), a fish and a few pot plants to look after. The photo shows one of the entry doors. It’s a big house but built over and around an older one. These doors look like they have been in position a long time.
We are going to the neighbours shortly. It’s where we did our first house-sit. Friends meet there every Monday to share a few drinks so we’ll enjoy that. We have good internet service here which is handy. Hopefully, I’ll have more photos over the coming days. There is a new (to me) bird here too that I’d like to get a photo of at some time.

Impressive! I'd love an entry like that. I don't have even a measly awning at either of my doors here.

I think the outfit is so expensive that can be so stressful for me to afford it.

@JudyEv I think it'd be a great place to sit and read and watch the weather.

I think this is just for a start. They may add on the number of chickens especially as time elapses

@Treborika I like the entrance because it is protected by a large porch.

Most houses here have what we call sitouts . Our ancestral house has a portico

I'm not sure how old the house is but the owners have gone on holiday. We stay in the house and look after the pets and the garden.

@averygirl72 Haha - yes, like baby-sitting. We don't get paid as there is very little to do and we have a little holiday in a nice place.

@JudyEv That’s like my brother’s house in Paris. The front entrance is magnificent and imposing, but it’s reserved for the bishop who never calls. I think he did used to call before my brother owned the house. I’m always brought in the side door.

Looking at that house and door reminds me of our huge house in our native. We would visit that to spend our vacation with our grandparents.
You have a handful there to take care of. But for sure it's going to be super fun.
Good that internet is good there.
Are you doing these house sitting as a paid job or just helping some known friends??

@arunima25 If we had a lot to do or a lot of responsibility it might be a bit different.

I'm looking forward to hearing about the new housesit and your adventures there. (I know what you mean but I will confess I'm still picturing you and Vince "taking care" of the pot plants there. )

This looks like a good job. I would like to do it too, if I could find places that would have good Wiifii and I could continue to work on line teaching. . . I'm glad that you have found an easy way to make a living.

We don't get paid and have only done it for friends and friends of friends so far. We may not even do any more. It depends what comes along and if we get asked. We always check on the wifi situation too. There are organisations you can join if you're looking to house-sit and some pay depending on what's involved.

@JudyEv I might think about doing this. I like to take care of pets, but now that I live with my elderly mother, I can't have one of my own.
