What would you do?

My friend sent me a message asking me if she did the right thing or not. Her kumare (godmother of her baby) is bugging her for a loan on Facebook. She said this person already owed her money before and is now asking for a second loan promising to pay everything in the near future. WTH? I hate people like this. You owe someone money, you pay first before asking for another loan. Or end up losing good friends over broken trust. Sigh! Sorry, got carried away. Too bad for me, I met a lot of thick- faced people like that in this lifetime. So did she lend her the money? Of course not. And she didn’t reply to the person’s FB message either. Talk about seen zoned. Silent treatment. Whatever. Then I saw this photo.

I have seen my own grown children borrow from each other in the past. I worried about it, thinking it could come between them if not repaid. But in all instances, it was repaid very quickly, I think it even brought them closer. They hadn't done it in years, then last year when my son was hurt, he borrowed some money from his brother. I worried he couldn't pay it back very quickly, but he sure did. He paid him in full. When I said something to him about it, which I normally don't do, he said, Mom, of course, we always pay each other back. Yay, I was so glad.

@MarieCoyle I have six siblings and all of them owed me money which they never paid back. I'm not angry. At that time, I have the means to lend them money. But they can't borrow money from me again haha

After not getting my money back the first time, I wouldn't even think about loaning more money to that person.

@DaddyEvil thinking of asking the bank if there is another offer. But thought of, no I don't need it , I thought my house and my childhood house is being built. But we don't need to borrow.

@sol_cee Oh, yes, several times. If I believe the person actually needs the money, I just give it to them. That way I don't expect it back and don't lose a friend. (I will only give money once to the same person, though.)

I totally agree that she should not lend the money if she was not paid back the first time, And the silent treatment is a good one,

Glad that your friend did not lend it.
Your saying there is quite appropriate.
You know I would have to tell the woman ..what do you take me for a fool?

The best way that I have taught to deal with a troll on social media is not to talk back to them since be keeping quiet it harms them better than give them satisfaction.

I agree. It's too bad in a way, possibly the person really does need money, but you just cannot always hand over money with no repayment. Been there, done that, no more.

You know in my experience, desperate people tend to think of pathetic reasons to hustle money from someone, my baby is sick, my mother is in the hospital. One time someone borrowed money from me and she said her father was dying! But it turned out, her father was very healthy

That's terrible, to say someone close to you is dying and isn't. Doesn't say much for the character of that person.

@sol_cee I've lent money to my brother for his business needs. He did pay back on time.

Yes, silence is a good answer in those situations.

I am more than happy to help out someone in need, but if they’ve wronged me in the past by not paying me back, then they won’t get any future help from me.

I think she did the right thing. People who are in the habit of borrowing seldom repay.

I will not lend her money again if she does not repay the money I lent her the first time.
