The Best Toast Around

October 6, 2022 10:39am CST
I recently made a discovery that I’d like to share with all of you. Replacing butter with olive oil is a way to elevate toast to another level of deliciousness(is that even a word?) Anyway, when you drizzle lots of extra virgin olive oil on your bread and pop in in the oven for a few minutes, you get toast with a special kind of crispness that I don’t even have words to describe. It just melts in your mouth. The more olive oil you drizzle, the better the texture. Here’s a photo of mine that I had for breakfast a little while ago.

I will try it because olive oil is supposedly healthier than butter.

I have done this before with cinnamon toast. Sprinkle cinnamon and a little sugar and it is delicious as well.

Hmmm, looks delicious, it's worth a try, I usually add dairy cream or butter. or nothing else. But this is worth a try indeed. Looks all crispy and yummy.

That sounds a really lovely way to do toast. And there wouldn't be any calories would there? (I'm just wishful thinking with that remark. )

I’m afraid by the time I’m done drizzling olive oil, one piece of toast carries a hefty amount of calories!

All I can say to that is that I cannot imagine it would be bad. Might definitely be something I will give a try.

I don’t like my bread toasted so much. I’ve never tried drizzling bread with olive oil and toasting it before.

I think that Italians have it right. They have olive oil on a lot of food.
