Huricane Julia Destroying My Country

Hurricane Julia has been ravaging Nicaragua since late Saturday afternoon. It has devasted the Caribbean Coast and sent more than 15 inches of rain in the country's interior.
I live a bit far from the coast, but the rain and heavy winds have also reached us, falling all night and all day.
the Coast guard has been evacuating the most accessible families, but my fear is for those who live in the most remote parts. My prayer and hopes go for them, wishing they won't lose lives, just material damage.

Stay safe. Believe it or not, I went through the same with Hurricane Ian not to long ago.

@Viastra I hope power can be restored safely and quickly. Some lives were lost during Ian, but no one I know. But, with the amount of flooding it was bound to happen. Thanks for your concerns.

Thanks for your wishes. We are safe, but we are without light and I must commute over 12 kilometers to work.

I hit Nicaragua full heads on, and we are without light, and the roads are blocked. we have started the cleanup process.

Good that you live a bit far from the coast. Stay safe.
