In singapore, ,the retire age had increased from 63 to 65 years old because most of the old peeople are unable to fend for themselves. The money that they earned are insufficient to pay their daily expenses. The government do subsidize for the old people in many sectors and gives them money every month, yet the money is not enough. The expenses is high, gst and public transport fees increased. Hence some of my colleagues are still working, age 70. Their children asked them for money instead of giving to them. What about your country? I had noticed some of mylot members are not working. Do you retire early ?

@peachpurple No, it is because the average life expectancy has increased a lot in the past few years.

I don't know the rules in details yet. But it seems the retire age in my country is 55 years old for females and 60 years old for males.

The official Phil. retirement age is 65 but there is a new bill filed to repeal the compulsory retirement age of 65 years to allow employees to continue working if they want and are able to. It's a waste of human resources when a group of people who have experience, talent, and skills not be allowed to use them because of age discrimination.
