Happy Tuesday Everyone! Egads it's cold today and I had to put the heat on just to get the chill out of the house. The sun is shining but it hasn't helped make the house any warmer.
I mentioned yesterday that my daughter was thinking of getting a new car. Thinking was what I thought when actually she decided definitely, picked out a 2023 Kia Soul and will probably pick it up on Saturday. So much back and forth with the dealership, insurance company, etc yesterday that my day was all mixed up.
I'm really happy for her and I'm sure she's going to enjoy having a new car to drive.
My grandson is going to get our SUV so it works great for everyone.
Part of me will be sad to see my Ford Escape leave and be replaced by a Kia Soul but it has 100,000 miles on it and has served us well. It will be fine for my grandson to drive back and forth to school, band practice and whatever else he does until he goes away to college next year.
Aside from all the car stuff there isn't much else going on here.
Hows' your day going?

I hope that the new vehicle stands the test of time for you and your daughter, as well as for your grandson.
Here the dealership took a copy of our insurance slip, which you have to keep in the vehicle anyways, and they contact them and do the transfer. My hubs called also to confirm that it had been done. You actually have a bit of an overlap in coverage, on both vehicles for a period of about 10 days.
The only downfall is the dealership 'lost' the ownership for the SUV that we are purchasing. I kept on wondering why they were so slow to have us pick it up, but yesterday the owner called my hubby and told him straight up. Now I know it will not be ready for another day or so. I doubt we will use that VW dealership for servicing, there is another one in the city we will likely use, just so they don't 'lose' our SUVW when it is in there.

@Marilynda1225 That is good that it is getting sorted out.
We have both names on our ownerships and the same with the insurance, although I have the staff discount for TD Insurance.
I have the final number that I need to get a certified cheque for, just need the call that the SUV is ready.

That's so frustrating finding out they lost your paperwork and it's held up the delivery of your new SUV.
Wishing you lots of happy driving with the new SUV.
We ran into a snag with our insurance since our Escape is in my name and my daughter is listed as a secondary driver. Since we want the new car to be in her name only they can't transfer the insurance unless I'm listed as a co-owner which I don't want to do so she has to take out a new policy in just her name. It's not a big deal just more paperwork.

It will definitely be nice having a reliable car for her to drive and I won't be worried about repairs, etc. She does most of the driving these days and when she visits her friends she travels quite a distance so it's even more important to have something reliable.

@Marilynda1225 - I agree that having a reliable car to drive is important. We replaced our old car only because the "pollution tax" on the old cars was too high and we had to go every year for the revision, this also costed a lot.

@LadyDuck we were going to wait until the spring and then decide on what car to get but things happened that made us decide to do it now and not wait.
Getting hit with the expense of your pollution tax probably made getting a new car more sensible. We do yearly inspections here with emissions tests and so far I've been lucky that our car has passed all these years.

@Marilynda1225 That's good. Hope here too weather will be like that. Two weather in a day is kind of unhealthy.

We've been having weather like that too until these past few days where it's cold overnight and doesn't warm up much as the day goes on.
Thanks for the good wishes on the new car

Yeah, I pushed it to the limit and it finally just croaked. It was a standard as well and so many people were surprised about that. I wish I still had it.

That's good to hear. From what I understand they do have good reviews and they give a really good warranty

Yikes you got snow?? I'd certainly not be happy seeing that white stuff on the ground this early in the year. Heck I don't even want to see it during the months it's expected

@Marilynda1225 I don’t put on many miles a year being a stay at home mom. I go out once a week to get groceries is about it and put on about 70 miles that day.

Congrats on the new car! I wish I was getting one Sis used to have an escape! It is going well, except for the mystery shop which is turning out to be aggravating again. If they want people to do these shops they need to do alittle more legwork on them.

I love my Escape and will miss it even though my grandson will have it and I'll still see it. It's almost 12 years old and served us well.
Sorry you're being aggravated by your mystery shop. You would think they would have it better organized if they want people to do them

I'm glad you like your Kia Cerato. She had a Kia Soul years ago and she loved it. But as life goes her now ex-husband took it in the divorce and it was just easier to let him have it than fight for it. Long story Now she'll have a new one and not have to worry and I won't have to worry about her driving long distances

Slightly sunny here too but the big ol' tree in the back keeps hogging it all so it doesn't warm up the house here, either. Which is ok in the summer, but not this time of year. When all the leaves actually leave, it might be a different story.

It’s cold. My brother said it was snowing when he got up this morning for his early doctor appointment.
I just paid my car off, so I’m not anticipating a new one anytime soon. Hope the new car has resolved that “easy to steal via the TikTok challenge” issue.

Snowing I heard that some areas got snow but I'm NOT ready for that white stuff yet (or ever) LOL
I haven't heard about the Tik Tok challenge but it will be safely in our garage.
