criminal background checks

I was wondering if it stayed on your record or even shows up at all when an employer looks at your criminal background if you got a ticket for stealing and then got it deferred?

I think it only shows what you have been charged with, not what you may have been arrested for but charges were dropped or deferred. You could probably call your local police department and just ask them. Or perhaps you can find the information online.
