A kangaroo in the middle of the city

Vin and I went into the city yesterday. We took a bus to the train station then a train to the city. We had a pleasant walk to our destination and passed this ‘roo on the way. There are about five or six kangaroos in various poses and, combined with the pool, it makes a nice feature.
If we use buses and trains at the right time, they are free so we’ll probably make more use of them the longer we’re here. We’re already planning a train ride to Fremantle. Vince has to fix a light fitting for a friend. It’s a simple job and we can take the few tools we need in a backpack. It’s quicker to take the train rather than drive and we won’t have to worry about parking.

Yes, it's a nice feature. When I was younger, I used to drive, but not any more. Always traffic jam and it's difficult to find a parking lot. I take subway and bus a lot nowadays.

@JudyEv The only downside of taking subway is it's quite crowded.

I wish we had more train service in America…and something other than Amtrak (which is ruined, I mean run by the government ).
The little bird also seems interested in the kangaroo.

Then I suppose the American Government can do selective trains' privatisation like what is being tried in India!

I too prefer Good Train rides to long drives!
But yes, if the Trains/Planes or the buses are good.
Fremantle is a new name for me. Is it in Western Australia only?

Yes East and South East Australia, especially the coastal part is densely populated but yes, Western Australia also has a lot of potential!

A nice side view of a Kangaroo. Probably you are able to explain the details in a way that is more interesting.

@JudyEv My sis was in Boston this AM. She sent me a really cool pic of a multi colored glass deer.

Is it uncommon for kangaroos to wander into cities or urban settings? It used to be highly unusual to see wild animals in our urban settings, but in my part of the country we're starting to see more and more deer and bear sightings in our cities and urban centers. I guess do to continued population growth of both humans and wild animals in the area, there is starting to be overlap in our habitats.

@JudyEv It's amazing how many wild animals learn to adapt to human encroachment. I guess they have to as a matter of survival.

@moffittjc Foxes are great scavengers too and would fossick out lots of bits and pieces that they could make a meal of.

We are near Jandakot airport which is quite sizeable now (only in our terms I guess) and it's set in an area which still has a lot of bush around it. There is talk of having to cull the roo population there. Foxes do well in suburbia too. They learn to adapt.
