This is a very popular soda drink in India. What is unique about it is the bottle that has a marble in it that is pushed out to a small rubber ring in the mouth that seals the top as the soda pressure builds. To open it, you put a finger into the mouth, push the marble in and let it pop into the bottle. There is something that holds the marble on top of the bottle without faling into the bottle. There are bottles like this in other countries and they are called different names. It cost me 30 rs - less than 50 cents and was very refreshing. I chose a strawberry flavoured goli soda. The original is Rose syrup flavoured and is called panneer soda. Do you have anything similar to this?

@Shavkat it costs less than 50 cents for the drink. The bottle has to be returned afterwards.

There are some very old bottles which have marbles in them. They are worth a lot of money now.

The original bottles from a few decades ago are collectors items apparently.

@pitstop My folks used to talk about them. The boys would break the bottles to get the marbles out.

@JudyEv that's scary - breaking glass could so easily injure someone.

it stopped selling around 2010 . it was popular until then . it had many fruit flavours but no cola flavour. it was a big disadvantage .people drank it in the hot summer days. it has come back but is costly .
