Members of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) were called to rescue a three year old boy who was taken by his dad who is Matthew Perkins who lives in Tampa Florida earlier today. I understand that law enforcement officers admit that dealing with family fights are the worst kind of crime they have to deal with since sometimes dealing with a family member of kidnaps a child in front of their married partner on rare occasions ends in tragedy. In this case, the SWAT members in Tampa had to deal with this terrible incident after midnight when the three year old boy was taken away by Matthew by taking him inside of his truck as he fled from the home of his female partner. The truck then after fleeing from the police crashed his truck underneath the Interstate 275 overpass in Tampa. The SWAT officers at first used a robotic dog in an attempt to get Matthew to work out a deal to end the standoff safely. The standoff last four hours when around 4:30 in the morning when the SWAT officers decided to take action to arrest Matthew while making sure his son was not harmed. Thanks to the work of the SWAT officers, no one was hurt. However Matthew will be charged with charges based on the kidnapping of his son. What was the cause of the family fight is not known since the incident happened just after midnight.

Parents should get together and decide how best to share custody of children. Kidnapping never works.

Kidnapping does not have a good ending at all. I am in agreement with you.

@Deepizzaguy You would think parents could work it out, if not I suppose you’d get a lawyer.

@RubyHawk That is what bothers me the most that some family fights could be solved without resorting to violence.

Lacks details on how the captive son was released and rescued.

Sorry about that. What likely happened is that the child was grabbed by a SWAT member when his dad was arrested.

@Nakitakona The father did not possess any weapon on him since he surrounded without incident to the SWAT police officers.

I agree with you since it breaks my heart to see a child get hurt in a domestic dispute.

Domestic issues are the worst. I'm glad the child was returned without injury.

There are crime shows on television where the host of the show has mentioned that law enforcement officers do not like to deal with these types of cases.

@LindaOHio I have seen some of those domestic fights even though they are reenactments on Headline news shows where it is hard to see.

I have read the horror stories of family fights that end in the passing of either a police officer or a family member.

It's heart wrenching when a parent kidnaps a child. You don't know if they will cause harm or not. I'm glad no one was hurt.

That's very, very sad. The poor child will probably be traumatised after what he's gone through.

I know what you mean since kids usually feel that they are responsible for the family fight.
