I just finished a Professional Certificate in Volcanology and Volcanic Hazards through edX! Now I feel a lot more qualified to do my job at the volcano museum as well as comment on volcano livestreams (mind you, I never held back in either situation because learning is a process, and I have taken a bunch of courses; it's just nice to have a name for it.) I'm just as proud, though, of being able to do a few new things in cooking. I've never been a great or enthusiastic cook, but I have to cook because I have to be gluten-free and there's just not a lot of affordable pre-made things here. I just discovered a YouTube channel of a Japanese baker teaching how to make very simple cakes, scones and things with 3-5 ingredients using rice flour. A lot of them are just tofu (very cheap here), rice flour, sugar, baking soda plus whatever flavoring; occasionally egg or milk. I like knowing scientific things, and I'm happy I can do things that make my life more pleasant too. What is your most recent "I'm proud of" moment?

Well this is a great accomplishment. Congratulations. Getting through the day at all is something I am proud of myself for.

Good for you! It's wonderful to learn new things. My, I'm proud of moment, was Tuesday when I stood up for myself at the hospital and wouldn't let the SWAT nurse poke me. I have trouble standing up for what I want. I'm always afraid I'll be shot down.

I guess I'm most proud, at the moment, of disposing of clothes I haven't worn for ages and am not likely to wear in the future.

It is interesting that you find volcanoes interesting enough to actually take a course on them. Then again Japan has a lot of them, the most famous of which is Mt. Fuji. Did your course include "The ring of fire" where a lot of volcanic activities take place?
