Didn't Wake Up Rich This Morning

The first bit of news that I saw this morning when I woke up was that there was no big winners in last night's Powerball lottery drawing. So, since Jim (@porwest) didn't win, I didn't wake up rich. He may not admit to this, but I told him that if he won he would be nice and send a big chunk of money my way. At least I was hoping he would be generous in that regard.
Seriously though, I did buy 4 tickets last night, probably the first time I've played the lottery in the last decade. So how did I do? Well, obviously, I didn't hit the jackpot. In fact, I didn't get a single number correct. How's that for luck! haha
Did the fact that I didn't win or get a single number correct upset me or discourage me from every playing the lottery again? Absolutely not! With a jackpot getting ever so closer to $2 billion, you can bet that I will be buying a couple of tickets again for the next drawing.
So, for those of you who did play the Powerball lottery, how'd you do? Any winners out there?

There is a reason lotteries are called a tax on the poor... I don't play them. For one thing, I can't afford to waste a dollar like that. For another, I know the chances of me winning are so remote as to not make it fun or interesting for me.
If you find that kind of thing fun, good luck... If you win big, maybe you can send a big chunk of money my way.

@moffittjc Years ago, when Pretty was a baby, I work as a cashier at a convenience store and almost bought a scratch-off ticket. A friend came in and bought one, so I handed him his ticket and then laid a dollar on the counter and said I was buying one, too. I tore the ticket off and another customer said he wanted one since we were playing... I handed him the ticket I'd torn off for me... As I was reaching for the next ticket, the customer yelled, "I won $50!" I picked my dollar up and put it back in my pocket.

@DaddyEvil That is very unfortunate luck in your case. You handed the winning ticket to someone else! Lol

I actually do not find the lottery fun at all, which is why it’s been over 10 years since I last played. But I couldn’t resist buying a ticket for this one

I already consider myself rich as well. But winning a lottery jackpot that big takes you to another level of richness.

I never play, so I guess I'll never win . What are the chances of winning . . . we know reality, but people can always hope - it's fun to think about what could be, right? Maybe one day still we will get to read about you or Jim's big winnings .

@moffittjc I guess the odds are only good for that 1 person who wins it all .

There’s a 1 in 292 million chance of winning. The odds aren’t good at all.

@NJChicaa You should just quit your job and move to Mexico even if you don’t win the lottery. You can always get a job at a school in Mexico teaching the kids how to speak English!

The first time I bought a ticket in years. But I didn’t get my hopes up. No sense setting yourself up for a big letdown when you don’t win.

@moffittjc I have read that it is one winner who bought the ticket in California. This guy (or gal) is going to fins a lot of new friends and "lost relatives".

I forgot to buy a ticket for Monday night’s drawing, which set a new record as the highest jackpot ever. But I’m glad I didn’t play, because my numbers would have been nowhere close to the numbers that were drawn. There was one winner, someone who bought a ticket in California.

It definitely is a scheme, but it was fun to play. I haven’t purchased a lottery ticket in over 10 years.

The most I ever won was around $150. But I don’t really ever play the lottery, so I can’t expect to win the big payouts if I don’t ever play.

@CarolDM I don’t really care if I win or not, which is why I pretty much never play. But it’s t was fun to give it a chance. I’m sure that if I did win I would most likely give it all away. I don’t want money to spoil me and make me into someone I’m not.

I never play either (except for last night), so I never win. And I always get mad when I don't win, until I realize that I didn't even play. Funny how that works. I expect to win every week without actually buying a ticket. To me, that's the way it should work! LOL

@shaggin I’m so bummed. I completely forgot to buy a lottery ticket last night for the Powerball drawing. The jackpot was up to $2.04 billion. They haven’t announced yet if there was a winner, but I’m really hoping there wasn’t one!

@lovebuglena The announced jackpot for Monday started off at $1.9 billion, but grew to $2.04 billion due to higher than expected ticket sales.

So far, of the tickets I have checked, and I had several, I won $4. lol. A far from the $1.6 billion it was, but hey, the chance to still win is still there and so I too will be buying more tickets, and in fact already have. I mean, $2 for the chance? Well worth it and fun to dream a little bit and try to figure out what I'd do with all that money.
As for sharing some of my loot with you, don't worry Joe, I won't forget who you are.
