Here comes the rain.

Well, it's been coming and going since yesterday, with wind and rain starting to pick up now and again. It's started raining a bit harder, just depends what the overnight brings. We do know, that George has no plans to open tomorrow with the storm on top of us. So. Yeah. He gets an extra day home. Most places are closing by four and are going to be closed tomorrow. Bridges for those who live on Beachside will close at five. It's going to be fun. Power flickered once, and we don't expect long term power outages this time around if any at all.

Before weather reports nature alerted us. Happens even today. For example, whenever a tropical storm is on its way you can tell from the way the birds behave.

Our birds aren't that bright. Hell, they're not afraid of people or traffic. I've stopped many times to watch birds cross the road.

Better to stay at home and be safe. I hope it will not be too bad this time.

The surging of power sucks, and rain hitting the windows isn't ideal, but that's what being in a storm is like.

@LadyDuck It can be scary, I won't lie. But, I live and have lived in Florida all my life.

Very thankful it's not worse than it is. Still not good, but after that last one, I would be leary, too. Be safe, Kayla.

No longer in a flood zone. Power flickered about ten minutes ago.

I saw this evening how the storm damaged the coastline of Florida. I had no idea it was so bad. I am glad you all are safe.

Ian started it. We haven't been able to rebuild from that. So, that's where we are. Nicole took an already existing problem and made it worse. Hopefully, that's the last one and we'll have six months or more to rebuild before the next one.

I guess if the bridges close you really have to time things if you intend to be crossing them lest you want to be stranded somewhere.

Yeah. Idealy, you want to get as many people off of beachside as possible because it's going to take the brunt of whatever storm we get. So, they're real strict when it comes to that sort of thing.

@porwest That's one of the reasons why George doesn't want to live on Beachside.

@kaylachan I imagine that's probably a good idea and for good reason.

He's supposed to work, but he basically called out. Pizza Hut refuses to close. Two stores are closed, because Daytona Beach basically said anyone that didn't live on Beachside wouldn't be able to leave.

@CarolDM They are thinking it's going to be a cash cow. My ring app is already reporting power outages. We have power, and each time it surges I keep thinking we'll lose it, but so far so good.
