Went to the supermarket for groceries. There's a discount on canned foods. I bought a few canned foods, including canned beans, canned corn soup, canned tuna and canned sardines. I always have canned foods at home because they can be stored for a long time. This is a backup in case I don't feel like cooking or when there's a typhoon or a lockdown that I cannot go out.

Yes i do buy canned food such aa braised beans, baby corn, sardine, tuna, curry chicken and luncheon meat. However too much is not healthy. So once a week have a canned food meal is alright, not everyday

@Beestring I'm as happy with canned as fresh and you don't have to worry about spoilage.

When I eat beef, I liked corned beef. I like canned luncheon meat. Some local restaurants here offer instant noodles with luncheon meat and fried egg. It's quite popular here.

The supermarket offered discount on canned foods this morning. So I bought some. I don't have many at home.

@Beestring I am never on a vegetable diet, I have a very hard time to digest vegetables. I add beans to soups and to stews, but I can only eat a very limited quantity.

Yes, we keep canned food in the cupboards all the time. Canned tuna, canned fruits and veggies, canned beans. These items can be stored for many years, without ever going bad! The canned vegetables are as nutritious as the fresh grown!

Is it because canned foods are not that common in your place, or just that you don't buy them?

I think everybody buys canned goods at some point, but we also can our own. So its a little bit of both.

@Beestring Yes. You need to pressurize the cans so they stay sealed shut.

Yes, good idea to have canned goods at home. We have yearly hurricane watch, we must be prepared. Hurricane watch ends last day of November. Yes, I buy a lot of canned goods. Most is what you mentioned, minus sardines. Corn beef, Spam, Vienna sausage, bumble bee tuna, mushrooms mostly what I have & buy. Package goods too handy for home, just tear open to eat. Not as nutritious, but handy. Cereal too good to have around.

I always keep some canned foods. We have winter storms, and there are times when it's a great source of back up when the fresh runs out, and I can't find time to get to the store.
