Cold days call for hot soups for dinner. 20s and 30s F here the past few days has been cold. Went out and freshened up the bird bath. It was frozen earlier. I hope they appreciate it. So cold out there.
Decided on potato soup and cornbread for dinner. Crumbled some crispy bacon pieces on top. Very good addition. The cornbread is fresh out of the oven. Added a little butter and oh my was it good.
Leftovers as well. Something so comforting about soup and cold weather. Potato soup is an all time favorite here. Will make vegetable soup soon.
What about you? Any favorites for you when the weather gets cold?
Photo is mine.

I had a late lunch and made some potato clam chowder. Like you, I ate it with a piece of cornbread. I made some the other day to go with a bowl of chili, and popped a few pieces of cornbread in the freezer so I could enjoy it another time. Soup in cold dreary weather just hits the spot for me, too.

Honestly, the original recipe says chowder but it's a soup. And yes, cornbread goes with a lot of things, plus it's delicious.

Thank you so much. I enjoyed this soup very much. Went out and filled up the deck peanut feeder and got cold again. But I am bundled up with the heat on and am warm again. That cold goes to the bone. A funny saying I used to hear. So very true. And chicken noodle is hard to beat.

When it comes to weather we have no extremes and so no special effort to cook.
Your soup looks delicious.
