At our house-sit, we are only half an hour from the school where Vince used to work. They had a fete today so we drove there and walked around looking at all the displays. Vince was able to catch up with some of the teachers and staff that he once worked with. We bought some succulent plants and some jams and chutneys which will probably be Christmas gifts.
In the photo, you can see a table that one of the senior students made. The framework is steel and the rest is jarrah, a native red wood. We were really impressed with the items made by the students. The school band also entertained us and were very easy on the ear. We came home to a rapturous welcome from the dogs.
The surfboards on the table were also made and painted by the students. Edit: I think the surfboarfs are actually skate boards.

@LindaOHio They certainly know how to show their pleasure. I'm sure you miss your Poms. Do you have photos of them?

@JudyEv We had two Pomeranians. One would jump up in the air about 3 feet when we came home. He was so cute.

My sister is planning on something similar in her school She runs a school for toddlers. She just asked me if I could suggest some recipes for making preserves. Also if I had any give aways. I would not want to empty our house just yet (lol)

I loved the slatted top. It would sell for a good price I think.

@judyev School bands can be a bit hit and miss - glad yours wasn't callithumpian. We went to hear our son playing in his school orchestra once. He was on the trumpet. They spent a while doing what we thought was warming up, but it turned out to be the the actual performance.
