Whether we’re going through health issues, financial struggles, relationship troubles or anything else that can cause frustration, stress, depression, make us go off balance, etc we may know that being strong & positive helps, but it’s not easy. What are things that help you when you can’t do it on your own?
For me humor has been a big part of it. My late ex & I used to say (I still do), that if you can laugh, you’re not too far gone. Laughter really can be the best or one of the best medicines. Especially if you have a hearty guffaw like me. It stimulates the body. It uplifts the emotions. It sparks our minds. Even it only makes a change for just a few minutes, that can improve things. The more we watch, the better it can make us feel.
After I was diagnosed with my third bout of cancer (stage 4 uterine) Apr of last year, I made it a habit to watch some funny vids on YouTube every day. I started off with comic auditions from AGT & BGT (America’s Got Talent & Britain’s Got Talent), clips from Golden Girls, Friends & Big Bang (three of my favorite shows), Gabriel Iglesia routines.
YouTube then started putting other things on my feed that they though I might like. These comic creators are all do observational humor. They all do multiple characters. The writing, acting & editing are so good that you think it is more than one person. If you have any suggestions about funny things to watch on YT, please let me know. I also like absurd, sarcastic, dry & goofy humor. They all incorporate that as well.

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I cannot imagine what you must be going through. I'm glad you've found an outlet to lift you up. Laughter is the best medicine so they say. I love to watch funny videos on YT too. And some of the shorts they put up can be funny too. I also watch funny stuff on TikTok. Big Bang is also one of my favourites.

I appreciate that. Is your name, Umi, Noor or UmiNoor? I'm holding steady right now. One thing I've learned is what self care I need. Laughter is a big part of that. I also like watching singing auditions & animal rescue.
