Welcome to the Couples Café. C’mon in, sit a spell… we’ll have cawfee, we’ll tawk… it’s very cas! Latté for the Ladies? Java-du-jour for the Gents? No matter… the goal is to brew the perfect “couples blend” mixed in the Goldilocks way (just right) that will tickle your taste buds and warm your hearts. To give you a “flavor”, this book will focus on creating and maintaining mature, loving, heart-centered relationships based on mutual respect, understanding, compassion, appreciation, and loving kindness – oh yeah, and fun too! The café is not gender specific…it’s an EOC (equal opportunity café). In fact, guys WE WANT YOU! Trust me, this is not one of those “girly books”…it’s for everyone. And, since it takes two to make a relationship, it’s gonna take two to dine at the Café as well! So, dig in guys!Oh, and it’s always BYOB (bring your own “baggage”) – and we ALL have some that we’re toting around that’s weighing us down. I promise, however many pieces of baggage you have, we will slowly take a look inside, see whatcha got in there, unpack it, and repack it with only the necessary and appropriate stuff that you want to bring on your relationship journey. If you’ve strolled into the Café, it’s likely that you’ve read much of the relationship material out there… maybe you’ve even listened to Dr. Laura and Dr. Phil, maybe you know all about Mars and Venus… Super! If not, that’s okay too, I’m so glad you’re here! You will find as we chat, we’ll “blend” it all together and add “new and improved” inspiring ingredients so you’ll have everything you need to create your perfect Relationship Recipe. With each course, we’ll be “chewing” on stuff as we work our way through the Couples Café menu. Oh, the Couples Café is very big on sharing… the only “sharing charge” is the “charge” you’ll get out of adding new ingredients to your relationships. You’ll notice that all the items on the menu are priceless. Like the MasterCard commercial, if you order something not served at a Couples Café somewhere, you will pay dearly – maybe you already have. However, if you savor the flavor, if you swish it around leaving your taste buds wanting more, if you completely chew and digest the Couples Café menu items, you will find your relationship so rich in love, compassion, fun, tenderness, integrity, and respect… it’ll be… well… priceless!If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you always got If you remember nothing else from this book…you WILL remember that quote. That quote is the basis for the book…and by the time you’re done you’ll realize, as I did at one time, that you may just be conducting your life as if it doesn’t apply to you!!They say “life begins at 40”…well, not in my book!
