I woke on Friday morning at 4am with severe depression. I don't know why, all I can think is all my problems came crashing down at once. I had no one to talk to, I cried for hours.
My only comfort was my cat, little boy, he continued to follow me around the house, standing on his hind legs for me to hold him, getting in my lap when I sat down.
I went to pay my last big bill for this year, I was running late for work, my first time, so I called and let her know, she was good with it.
I got to work and told her my problem with co workers going home early and that left me as cashier and one day stuck only me and the other assistant manager the only people working the store so he was on register too. That I didn't get to work on my department but a few hours all week. With that being said she told me to work my 4 hours in my department and she gave me a copy of my part of the manifest, what I'll get on truck day, so I'll know where to prepare to stock what's coming.
Later she asked me if I was okay because my eyes were still swollen and red. I replied with a yes, I don't mix home and work.
I could only get 4hours because I couldn't go into overtime. I got the two isle's done and ready for the 400 boxes of candles coming to my department, the other 115 boxes were small appliances and washing detergent, baggies and cleaning supplies.
I came home and could finally eat something, I now had a sinus pressure headache and went to sleep. I slept 13 hours.
But..... I made it one more day.
My Friday sucked, I hope yours was better.

@andriaperry I wish there was somewhere for you to go, to not be so totally by yourself. I am finding even a moment of saying Good afternoon! to one of the women in the gym's locker room to be a help. Just little things like that. We know we are not alone and we can stop for a second and say something small, acknowledging that we are in the same room.

Depression is an ever-present reality for many individuals, and it can be all too easy to feel completely overwhelmed and alone. It takes immense strength to be able to pick yourself up and keep going in the face of such a difficult and dark emotion.
The story of this individual is an inspiring example of resilience in the face of adversity. Even with the weight of depression upon them, they were able to make it to work, and even managed to get some work done. The kindness shown to them by their boss, in understanding their situation and allowing them to get some work done in their department, was admirable.
The story also serves to highlight the importance of emotional support, both in the workplace and in personal life. The presence of the cat, Little Boy, was a comfort to this individual in a difficult time, and demonstrates the importance of emotional support and companionship.
The story of this individual serves to remind us that, even though it can be hard, it is possible to keep going in the face of adversity, and that it is important to reach out for emotional support when needed.

@andriaperry Nice to hear it. Does the weather affect your mood when you wake up? I always feel a bit down if the weather looks bad when I first wake up.

That was a really rough day. It seems they need to not let people go home early all the time. Our Friday was decent.
