Don't read this if you're a girl

Ok guys, now that we're alone, what do you really want to do over the festive period?
I don't know the arrangements in your neck of the woods but, where I am it's the ladies in the family who decide what's happening over the next couple of weeks. Sure, family celebrations are important but there should be some ''me'' time in there for us to chill out, meet our buddies for a couple of beers, go golfing and generally do what we want for at least part of the time.
In the UK we have a celebratory period at this time of year which includes Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Eve (it's called Hogmanay in Scotland) New Year's Day and other free days 'cos most people get at least 10 days holiday over the the festive period.
Surely some of that time could be allocated to us to do what we want? I don't know about you but there's only so much festive cheer I can take!

Being a lady I have read. And trust me I can feel you. .I guess you made this title deliberately to get more ladies reading it and feel your dilemma

I do find it can all get a bit overwhelming. Since we had our girls we have chosen to spend Christmas day at home with just us so there's no pressure to do loads of unnecessary preparation or do anything at certain times or in certain ways. Then a day or two later we meet up with other family for a day or two, then home again, then spend new year with a few friends if possible. I'm quite a party animal and love to see lots of friends but I need a break too!
