Driving around to see winter lights

I started this last year with momma and yesterday we did it again. There's a list online of houses in this area with particularly big lights displays. It's fun to drive around and see the pretty lights and how creative people get. Sometimes you can park by the houses and tune in to a radio station and watch the lights synchronize to the music playing. Sometimes it's really well done. And sometimes it looks like random blinking. I wonder what their neighbors think. lol.
Here's a photo I took of a well done house.
Do you do anything like that> ?

That sounds so enjoyable for you and your mama. We used to do that when the kids were little, but haven't in a while.

Thanks! We really have fun with it. I'm hoping to get to a nearby town before the holiday season is over - they are supposed to have big display too

Hannuka is a very festive holiday for us. I heard music from my window from outside last night. Big Hannukiot are put up around Jerusalem and the lights are put on for each night we light candles. Some put their Hannukiot outside and others put in the window of their home and I put mine on my table. It is nice to see how creative people can get. Growing up in Minneapolis I used to see houses lit up for your holiday. Enjoy looking at the decorations. What do you do at your home?

It must be beautiful with all the Hannukiot. I hope you had a lovely Hannukah , am I correct that it has ended for this year?
We don't do a lot here decorating wise... we have a small tree, with crochet ornaments that my mom made on it, I put out some red and green doilies instead of the white and pink that are usually up, for outdoors I have a small artifical tree, I put some battery powered lights on it and after the holidays I will leave just the tree for winter decor.
The decorations make winter with all this snow a little bit better :-)

Today is the 2nd day. The last day is next Monday. I will light candles later on for Hannuka. What can I say there is a lot of light for the holiday. With all the Hannukiot lit it shows us so much light. It is called the Festival of lights. Next Monday is the last day and Sunday is the last time for this year that we light our Hannuka candles. On Friday I light my Hannuka candles before I light my Sabbath candles. On Saturday after our Sabbath is over we light Hannuka candles. As long as you are happy with the tree and decorations for your holiday that is what is important and not what everyone else does. I remember all the snow in Minnesota. I am glad that the decorations help somewhat with all the snow you get. Bye for now. I will be back on the computer but have to call my techician for help with some things. The TV will go on after I finish some songs. It is a holiday where we can work and work on the computer and watch TV.

@Hannihar Happy Hannuka! I did a quick search, I have heard of the Hannuka celebration, but didn't know much else about it. Interesting to learn about the miracle of the holy light of the temple staying lit for 8 days when only 1 day amount of oil was available.
Are there some holidays you cannot watch TV or be on computer?

That must be so pretty when the look of the lights is designed to showcase the home they are on.

All the white from the snow and ice can look so bleak. The lights really help make winter more cheerful. I do a little decorating, mostly in the house, a Christmas tree , a few decorations set on tables or hung up. Outside I put a small tree with battery power lights. Nothing like these big displays. How about you?
