I stopped for about fifteen minutes to open the Christmas gifts that I had. Everything was very nice. With the gift from my boss, (A Starbucks card, a foot care kit, a tin of goodies, a grocery gift card, and a box of Moose Munch) there was a card thanking me for my help this past year, and that she will be sorry to see me go. Made me cry. Things are going slow getting ready for the Coast Guard daycare job, so I'll be working with my boss for a while, yet. My neighbor that I saw out the window left me a card and a cookie. A neighbor who came to my door not long after I came home brought me a box of fudge. From one of the daycare parents, I received an insulated cup full of Ghirardelli chocolate squares. My brother's ex-girlfriend gave me a gnome mug with hot chocolate mix, a candle, socks, and a Starbucks gift card. The pastor and his wife gave me tea, more Ghirardelli chocolate squares, and a box of glazed cinnamon roll coffee. I received a scarf and hat from someone who didn't sign the gift tag on the bag. The gift I found outside my door when I got home turned out to be from a neighbor, and it was a lovely coat, unfortunately it's two sizes too small. I'll have to bring it back to her tomorrow. I am thankful to have such thoughtful folks around me.
