Took a break for the last couple of weeks or so. Sometimes it is for the best. Just unplug. Such peace of mind when that happens. For me, at least. The birds have been enjoying the peanuts from the deck feeder. Blue Jays, Cardinals, Woodpeckers, and many more. The suet and the sunflower seeds too. The days when the weather permitted I refreshed the bird bath for the birds. With a few days of zero wind chill factor, and below, they had to find their own water from the one inch of snow and ice on the ground. Wanted to thank you very much to those who emailed to check on me. And when I logged in to myLot, I saw a dozen messages as well. I really appreciate you reaching out to check on me. You know who you are. Love to you. The last few days have not been so good. Started out with a scratchy sore throat and a slight headache. That never happens with me. The next morning at 3:am I could hardly swallow and had chills. My throat felt like razor blades. A low grade fever of 99.5 as well. I gargled with salt water. Drank vinegar and honey water. All of the remedies that usually help. Nothing helped. Called my PCP’s nurse. She said to visit the nearest Urgent Care Center. Have them run a rapid strep and she faxed orders for labs. I waited around for the results. Positive for strep throat and tonsillitis. No wonder I felt so bad. Today I still have the chills, fever and cough. Sore throat is still there but not as severe. Hoping the meds will kick in soon. Hot tea, jello, pudding and ice cream are on my diet for now. Snapped this cold sunset on Christmas day from the deck. No clouds. Just lots of peace. Hope you are all doing well. Will catch up when I can.

You are seriously ill, I hope that the meds and soft diet help you cope. I thought that maybe you were visiting your cousin during your time away, but it is good to know that you took time for you, that is most important.

@Juliaacv I have been drinking cold water, apple juice, jello, sherbet, and pudding today. Was at 100.1 a few minutes ago. And this is only day three that I started being sick. Started antibiotics yesterday.

Day by day I will get better I hope. Fever spiked last night. Back to 99.3 today. My cousin spent most of the holidays with her Dad. He lives next door.

I too took a break from Mylot for a few days, and I'm only now getting around to responding to some postings here. At first view, the picture appears to be a painting. I only hope you were not affected by the recent blizzard in Canada and the higher states of the United States.

@rsa101 Yes that was in Buffalo, New York. They are known for large amounts of snow. I am in Tennessee. We don't get that much snow.

Thank you. I snapped this photo with my Canon camera. We had freezing temperatures a few days ago, and about an inch of snow. No blizzards in Tennessee thankfully.

My fever is at 102.8 now. Waiting on the doctor on call to call to tell me what to do. My doctor is out of town of course.

That's strep for you. Maybe an antibiotic shot would be a good idea, strep shouldn't be taken lightly.

I am doing well despite dealing with a hard freeze that came into my area starting on last Thursday and ended around Wednesday afternoon without the pipes breaking and loss of running water.

@CarolDM That is cool that the birds enjoy the peanuts. Do you ever have a line of them standing and waiting for a tree or to get into your place? It is nice that you got some quiet time. @CarolDM when I have tonsillitis the antibiotic usually takes 3 days until I feel it's action.
