What are planning to cook for the new year's eve?

One year is too short to be wasted. It will be 2023 two days from now. We are just riding the tide of the next episodes of our lives. I hope there will be a better world in 2023. As the world is getting older, people change. At home, it's my sister the cook and she is the one deciding what to prepare. But one thing is for sure, our table here will be full of fish recipes, LOL. There were two fish deliveries on this day intended for new year's eve where people in the Philippines celebrate the so-called' Media Noche". My sister told us at home that she will cook fish escabeche, fish Relleno, fish fillet, and fish with sotanghon. There is no chicken to cook during the new year, truth be told that it's not good. I do not know exactly the reason why against the cultural beliefs, LOL. What are you planning to cook for new year's eve while waiting for 2023? Image credit to search engine

I have not yet decided what to cook for New Year's Eve, but I know that the first day of the year it will be Smoked Ham and lentils, because pork and lentils bring good luck and money for the new year.

@cacay1 I am going to decide soon, while we have our second coffee. Tomorrow we will have lentils but not pork, I am going to serve lentils with a veal roast.

I requested "kare kare" beef and fruit salad from my DIL. That's all I need, With rice, it would be a perfect meal for me. The kids may have roasted hotdogs and pork. May you have a prosperous New Year, Erly.

@cacay1 They know they can make me part with my dinner, for them... They always sit there meow whenever they see me walking into the kitchen. If I eat anything, they want to investigate, sniff at, to make sure I pay tax fairly!!!

Nothing indicates 2023 will be good. In fact, I see higher inflation and a definite deep recession. It's going to be rough for a lot of people, but it is what it is. As for a New Year's dinner, we're just going to go out.

@porwest, yes true, people on earth will continue to suffer the high cost of commodities due to inflation. Happy New Year.

My wife usually cooks fried chickens, salad, spaghetti, pancit bihon, grilled boneless bangus, among others. And the left-over we bring them to the beach for our family outing.
