We're going to be caring for Russell again

On 4th January, we’re house-sitting a property at Grass Valley. The owner of a different property has asked us to look after his dog, Russell, while we’re there. It will be a 5km drive each day. We stayed there before and I wrote about Russell and some of our adventures there. Last time, the other dog at the same place, Lulu, got grass-seeds in her ear and we had to take her to the vet. This time, she is going into kennels and we’ll only have one to feed each day. We don’t have to walk it but we will. Russell will be stir-crazy if he is shut in his run for a full week. The property where Russell lives has now been sold for $A16 million dollars. It is a big property but I don’t know how many acres. The photo is one I’ve used before of Russell.

He will probably be walking you. Does he obey? Maybe you could play fetch with him or get one of those ball launcher things for him so he could chase balls all over the property.

We'll have to try him with a ball. He's not too bad at obeying but when you get close to home, we put him on a lead otherwise he doesn't want to go back in his yard. You can't blame him for that.

It's like a boarding house for dogs. They differ but she will likely have her own little yard with her bed/kennel in one corner. They will feed her and maybe walk her each day. The dog owners pay for the service.

It is thousands of acres. I should imagine the new owner will just continue to farm it - plant crops, raise sheep, etc.

The two dogs weren't kept together so that won't be a problem. Lulu was at the house and Russell has his pen quite some distance away.
