So Happy To Witness A Sunrise

Snapped this photo while in the recliner yesterday morning. The sun was making its way up at 7:30 am. I normally don't see a sunrise, only the sunsets from my deck.
But the last several mornings I have been resting in the recliner, which gives me a great view of the deck and part of the sunrise. A few clouds were seen but only a few drops of rain fell. Today is nothing but sunshine.
I actually slept in my bed all night (last night) for the first time since Tuesday. I feel I am improving from the strep throat and tonsillitis. And maybe the flu. Who knows for sure what it really was. The fever and chills are gone. And yes, the sore throat is history! Still coughing and sneezing. But this will all pass in time.
I have to thank @sallypup as she told me the sneezing was a good sign on Friday. I did start improving after that. She was correct. Now I just have to build my strength up and start eating more to do that.
Happy New Year to everyone. I hope we all have a better year.

I am so happy to hear that you are turning the corner.
I have heard the same to be true about sneezing.
I just made a nice little pot of cauliflower-broccoli soup that I will reheat for my lunches this week.
I would bring you some if we were closer.
I love your sunrise shot, actually all of your shots especially at this time of the year.
In November our skies usually fill up with clouds, and they stay that part, for most days, until the spring.
We do not see the blue skies very often, so I love to see them.

@CarolDM I think that fevers and coughing and sneezing takes its toll on our bodies and that must be why you still feel so exhausted. I still lack the energy that I had in October before I got ill. I never quite understood what my Gramma meant when she would get over a bug but say that it robbed her of her energy. I understand it well now.
Today has been foggy and dreary all day long. We were just talking about how the weather has changed so much over even the last 20 years. That many years ago we had very cold weather, and usually lots of snow in January. I remember that when it was particularly cold, the sun would shine so strong, that was when I decided to get a good pair of prescription sunglasses. Funny how things change so drastically but they are little by little, year by year, and make such a difference.
We are expecting rain and temperatures hovering either just above or just below the freezing point for the next week, I doubt that we will see any sunshine. So, please keep on posting those lovely sunshine photos.

@Juliaacv It really does. When I sneeze my chest even hurts. I might have had the flu. And couldn't eat much either. But I am trying to eat better now. We do understand things better now from our smart Grandmothers.
I will share the sunshine while I can. We have rain retuning on Tuesday and then a few more cold days.

Thank you my friend. I am finally starting to see the light. One by one, the symptoms are going away. Now I am left with no energy. Still coughing some. Blowing my nose all the time. But no fever or chills. I am trying to eat better. Oranges, bananas, apples, and chicken soup. I would so enjoy your soup. If only we were closer. Thank you about the photo. I got lucky. Was sitting there, both cats on my lap, had the blinds open to the deck and there was the sun. Made me so happy to see it and some blue skies as well. We have 60 degrees F for over a week now. But that will change soon. Hope you are feeling better each day.

No swabs. I didn't see a doctor, only the nurse practitioner at the urgent care. They only took my vitals, checked for strep and did the labs. Just treated the symptoms at home. It was viral, not much else to be done. Here is the post talking about the first part of my illness.
Took a break for the last couple of weeks or so. Sometimes it is for the best. Just unplug. Such peace of mind when that happens. For me, at least. The birds...

I’ve frequently stayed up to see a sunrise, but to get up for one?????
I’m so thankful you’re feeling better. Yes, sneezing is a good sign: you’re getting those things that make you feel bad out of your body!!

@CarolDM That doesn't sound good at all... I'm glad you aren't bad enough to need to be in a hospital, though. I hate staying in a hospital!

Having strep throat, tonsilitis and the flu isn't fun, as you already knew! Plus you have two loving cats, watching over you like hawks! I'm so glad you are feeling better and about sneezing? It's something I didn't know!
