We were gifted a cake

Just before we left to go to our friend’s house for New Year, a neighbour brought over a cake for us. They are Asian and not given to eating cake or anything sweet. Someone had given the cake to them so they thought we might like it.
It was a banana cake with chocolate discs as decoration. It’s an awful photo. For some reason, my little camera won’t focus in close-ups. That’s my excuse anyway.
But their loss was our gain and it was thoroughly enjoyed by us all.

@JudyEv That was nice of them to give it to you. It looks nice! I've seen banana bread and banana cake but not like that. Looks so good! Funny enough I was thinking about banana bread / cake earlier today. I was craving it.

@VivaLaDani13 The banana cake that I've made a couple of times has been easy enough.

@JudyEv I'm not sure either to be honest. I've heard in the past there is a difference but I don't remember what it was and if it's accurate. I've never made either before so not sure how it's all done.

That's true. We need to share cakes now. With only two of us, it can be hard to eat a whole cake before it goes off.

It's good for both of you, you get to enjoy the cake, and the cake won't be wasted too since your neighbor can't eat it.
Banana cakes are quite common here, but I have not tried it with the chocolate discs. Have you tasted the cake? Do you like it? I know some people don't like banana cakes, though I don't mind eating them, it's not my favorite too.

I don't mind them but they're certainly not my favourite. I only make one if I have too-ripe bananas.

It's good that I wasn't roaming around else I would have ran away with the cake and gobbled it all
What wonderful Neighbors you have !!
May be there was low light and that affected this close up picture.
Aren't such little memories that add up and make our complete life!

Most of the time here, people put nuts in the banana bread. I don't like cooked nuts. *shrug*
I'm glad you enjoyed it.
